Lir

Keep your head up, straight, attentive. Glide through the water and you'll stay unseen.

 A pale belly, a dull coat on top, the best illusion you could need under the water. *Ah, there it was.* The creature they had been pursuing was in their sights, but they were not in its. A seamless glide, fur swaying gently as they swam through the plants, sticking close to the rocks as they closed the distance. 

When the miasma hit, the surrounding ocean found itself falling sick, the plants died, the fish dissappeared, and its inhabitants fled to avoid falling sick. Those above ground managed to contain it, walled it off, went back to their lives, but underwater? Things were not so lucky. Containment of the miasma was difficult, it would seep into random currents and travel to unexpected places, and with it, it would bring its monstrosities. 

Gnarled, inky, and terrifying, this monster was small, that was a blessing in and of itself. Catching it off guard was a must. With a powerful wave of their tail,, the hunter descended onto the beast.

Lir refuses to elaborate on where he came from, what he's up to, or even to simply disclose his full name. Hell, no one is even aware if "Lir" is his actual name. The foreboding, tall fellow just showed up in town one day with bags of gold, purchasing his rickety mansion outside of the bustling city center and setting up shop. 

Though he generally keeps to himself and hasn't really gotten himself into any trouble, and is pleasant and cordial when speaking with his neighbors and others while he's out and about, there's something strange about him that has made him quite infamous in the area, not to mention the strange aura around his house. and the dusty old books he sells full of strange scriptures. 

Lir prefers to work alone, but Florence showed up in his shop someday touching books and asking questions and being his generally friendly self, and then ended up simply...sticking around. He's now the bookshop's one and only employee.
