Image made at: Rinmaru Games

Name: Aelekta Kshau (Sanger)
Gender: Female, aggressively bi, aro
Age/DOB: ~16 / born RY 3 (though their timeline currently seems to be RY 9 or 10 and not 18 or 19)
Origin: Healing Den
Family: Mother Baeris Kshau, Father Kalkin Sanger; numerous siblings and cross-dimensional family members
Other: she is technically speaking 'Pernese' in bloodline, but heavily modified by both being born on the Den, and her father's prior genetic changes
Height: 5'10
Build: slender and lean, but quite strong for her seemingly-delicate frame
Hair: Sanger black, absolutely straight, kept to mid or low back and rarely in any style, prominent widows peak
Eyes: Sanger Blue, angled, large, almond shaped, under fine but pale brows
Appearance: darkly tanned skin, no sign of any markings or scars, prefers to wear snug bodysuits and dramatic trench coat as shown, and somehow manages to not clomp loudly around wearing boots as big as those; as her mother, she has a deep and husky voice that can be considered quite sexy, but at the same time positively menacing, and she has a very large vocabulary to go with it; she has dark, long fingernails, and thicker lips than most Sangers
Standing At: Dawn Watch Weyr
Dragon:
Created/Updated: 7.16.21
Genetic Abilities: as a Sanger conceived, born, and raised in the Healing Den, she has strongly been affected by this environment. Aelekta is strongly empathic to a distance of around 30 meters and up to a dozen humanoid minds, but also able to pick up on intelligent life forms minds within about a 500 meter sphere, in order to pinpoint individuals at a closer distance provided she knows who they are already (within 100 meters), and speak telepathically at 50 meters though only to surface thoughts. She can telepathically speak to any dragon within 100 meters, and sense their minds but only 'ping' them at around 500 meters. This doesn't mean she 'hears all dragons', as any of them - or humanoids - that can put up a resistance to any psionic ability, will be able to shrug her off or be unseen. She is not able to resist other minds, herself, and can easily be detected by sensitive psionics, magic, psychic people, or other such energy readers. (Her 'aura' is a rich shade of indigo darker than her eyes.) She is able to detect what location and 'era' the Healing Den has arrived at, and in fact may be able to command it as her mother does, though her desire to do so is low. This ability ties into her own genrehopping power, quite common to Sangers, and she is able to move between dimensions though always must return to her birthplace at the Den between worlds. When she 'hops she can take whatever she's holding, wearing, and with a little effort another person with her. This power will certainly expand if she impresses a dragon.
Physical Traits: as her father was 'treated' with chemicals and drugs to boost his intelligence and reflexes this has bred true in his latest daughter. She is markedly intelligent though more focused than most on physical skills. Those skills are aided greatly by her nervous system's speed, allowing her to react around 3x faster and move at an equal pace both for running and other movement, and for detailed dexterity tasks such as crowd weaving or even typing and small manipulation. She has enhanced senses, mostly a 3x improvement in her sense of touch which she can use to discern small details on items, changes in temperature and pressure, and the faintest of brushes by any small items - she can detect the individual lines in a spider web, for instance. Her vision and hearing are both also keen, about 2x for vision, and 2.5x for hearing. Her senses of taste and smell are largely unaffected, though she does sometimes claim to be able to smell the difference between items or people quite easily. Though slender she is still stronger than most humans, and can punch through half-inch thick wood items without damaging herself thanks to her speedy healing and recovery. She cannot outright resist any damage, but heals from most physical injuries including bone breaks and internal organ punctures around 4x faster than normal. Her skin heals from scrapes, bruising, and other minor injuries almost instantly, just like her father's. Though she is able to tolerate quite a bit, she cannot say she enjoys being damaged... unlike him.
Personality: Aelekta is more serious and like Baeris in personality, though not openly angry or snippy she doesn't smile a lot, and has a very dark sense of humor to match. She can be called 'guarded' if she is in unfamiliar territory, or if there are people she doesn't already know nearby, preferring to only loosen up around family and close friends. That said, she's not a stick in the mud, she won't dampen a plan to have some fun - she'll be right up there with her friends in a night on the town, regardless of where that town is or what they're actually doing there. If she starts madly cackling however, be warned... because she's found something of interest and won't let that go until it is hers or has worn out its usefulness to her. That might be a pair of shoes, a new weapon, a Logitech MX518 mouse, or a lackey in the form of hapless passerby. She isn't afraid to use people the way others use a fork - keep it clean and not put into the disposal by accident, and it will serve you well. She does like food, food puns, and cooking, and is likely among the best of her 'breed' at whipping something up in the kitchen that is tasty and nutritious, though she prefers no-frills presentation for it. Aelekta tends to try first, and ask for help later if she can avoid it. She pushes herself harder than anyone around her, though she doesn't punish herself for failure.
Skills and Profession: while she and virtually all her direct siblings in the Den have been raised with a strong education, she concentrates her efforts on observation, security, tracking, and combat when needed. She does ... like... combat quite a bit, in fact. She prefers a challenge that is evenly matched, be it with swords crossed, or wires needing to be clipped - if she encounters a system that she is unfamiliar with, the first thing she'll do is try and consult a manual, and if none is available she will take some time to discern how it works if she has the luxury. If she's in a rush, however, her intellect and speedy reflexes have saved her serious harm if she gets it wrong. She can watch a person for their body language, and if possible adds their emotional background-noise to that observation. She is ideal for infiltration efforts, spying, and silent security. Or, assassination, which she's done but not openly told her folks about it. The know, they've guessed, but haven't pressed it.
Events and History: Why she is like this, even her parents don't know. Perhaps the Den is gearing up for something. She was born when it was moving around pursuing the Rookery after all, and their own needs are still high-combat, high-defensive rather than the research and soft skills that the Den is known for. Of all of their children, Aelekta might be the one who most benefits from being trained as a fighting rider, though she does think she'd prefer a fast, sleek one for infiltration purposes.
Aelekta spent her youth watching the Den pick up strays and help move folks around, including dragons - she was familiar with a number of the dragons who then went off with Rookery folks, becoming true bonds, or just being sponsored. She has visited a number of locations thanks to not only the Den's travel, but her own ability to move between dimensions, and her first accidental transport landed her in (Rookery dimension) Xen, where the 'local' dragons discovered her and deposited her back at the Den. This did bring her into the radar of one or more of the Lanes, and it is actually 'local' Lane who often suggests interesting things for her to do or see.
It's also his son, Amon Vahh, (sorry unlinked and not on line yet) who is among her friends group. It's also very, very likely that the two of them will hook up. What comes of their union remains to be seen, they're in a kind of plotting stage, both of them well aware of the consequences of having kids during war time or outside of the confines of space-time. Either way, Amon and Aelkta spend a good amount of time together ruining bad peoples' days, liberating secret files and distributing them into either the hands of people who have paid for them, or out into the world where they will have the most effect. One might think that a girl as reserved and calculating as Aelekta might find such chaos to be unwelcome, but that's far from the truth. She thrives on seeing dominos fall, and loves to pick up the pieces to assemble them into something better.
When Amon showed up one day with a lovely dragoness named Ashera Izri, and not just on his own, that got Aelekta thinking. Maybe it was time to live up to her family's expectations. So as a teenager she has gone in search of just the right place to put herself. Was she 'searched'? Well, they'll certainly find out whether her lineage is true, because everyone else in her family rides...

Aelekta knew he way around a weyr, that was certain. She was at ease in the tunnels, the kitchens, the rooms with star charts and plans of attack, and the infirmary equally well. She did enjoy sneaking up on fellow candidates, though she knew better than to try it with staff or local riders - this was their territory, she didn't know how they would treat such an intrusion. Tact was important in strange locales, before doing anything untoward without even realizing it.

It was stupid-early in the morning when the dragons began to call for candidates to arrive, and Aelekta, while prompt, was still groggy when the eggs began to hatch. That first dragonet that did come out lobbed out a disgusting ball of ooze onto the sands, which his sire, that scaled and gorgeous color-shifter Vibrance, 'put out' with his own. While that brown still wandered, a big bronze bonded, and the smallest egg hatched as well. And though the brown first-out didn't bother looking at the shadowy Kshau, the little bitty grey-colored dragoness did.

(from hatching) The scaled hatchling continued on a few steps before she stopped beside a different young woman. Aelekta. I am Gilaith. You and I, we are going to have such fun! Her scales slowly shifted through the same rainbows as her eyes, before settling once more back to neutral tones.

Aelekta wanted to hang around and watch what else would happen, but... this was so pure and wonderful. She'd never been actually 'elated' before now, but if any emotion could have a name... "We absolutely will, Gilaith," the woman grinned from ear to ear. She'd have to catch up on who all bonded later, but for now there was meat and fruit diced up for the hatchlings - 'and fruit', that was so strange, but this little hatchling gobbled it down. She did seem to take the meat with gusto and the fruit with picky pecks, but still ate everything offered. No surprise, though, she was too woozy and tired from all of this to resist being picked up and brought over to the low ledge, Aelekta got the chance to watch a little of the end of it... and was amazed to see how much of Vibrance's non-Pernese blood was in the very last little hatchling. Mother would be curious!

Oh! She and father would love to meet this little one! But for the time being, they performed their new routine. Sleep, eat, learn, eat, play, sleep. Aelekta knew the routines, she knew the care and feeding, anatomy, and all that from her entire upbringing, it was inescapable after all. But still she remained at the classes because she wanted Gilaith to experience it too. She'd woken once with the dragon looking at her, right in the face, and had to explain 'dreaming'. And Gilaith took everything in stride, too, was not a blabbermouth. She seemed to know the value of both gossip and silence. The right word in the ear, and everything went into motion.

From assembling on the field and mock-fighting, to the call of lunch, everyone seemed to understand how one bell meant one thing, how the siren meant another. Gilaith wanted to go out and see what the scary thing was, but all the riders that were on adult dragons took care of whatever it was. Aelekta learned later that it had been ... something like feral dragon-creatures, and that thought brought a shiver to her spine. She knew from 'feral dragon creatures' in the depths of the Den. Though... at least the things here only had the one head.

Soon she and Gilaith would return home. Before then... Amon and Ashera came to pick them up. Little Gilaith gazed up at the black-green dragoness with awe and love. Love? Well, tremendous respect. As was due! She'd never be even close to the size of Amon's dragon friend, even now as she was barely a year old and only half her adult size, Gilaith was only the size of a runner at best. The two dragons communed with one another quietly, Gilaith appearing to learn something new. Maybe it was about combat or stealth. Maybe it was about Amon or their adventures. But neither would say what it was, and neither Aelekta nor Amon would pry.
