Beast Form

When things get difficult Reign shifts into a larger version of himself. A beast of decay and bringer of massacre. He's only ever done this twice before, once to protect his King the other to protect his daughter, only for the second time to bring him face to face with Death when he fully lost himself to the beast.

Creature of the Night

Being cursed by a state of False Life, Reign walks within the shadows away from the sun. It just affects him slightly but he despises the irritable itch on his skin. At night his eyes glow like distant rings of fire all thanks to the Symbiote living inside him, a fragment piece of the original maker of the Vampyr race.

Storm Giant Lineage

Even being half he shows great strength against his enemies and some times calls the power of lightning to assist him in combat. It still hurts him as he is not used to such an Element circulating internally or externally from him but if he has to use it he will try his best for the sake of others.

About

Reign Alastair Nachtnebel was a noble child from birth. Being the middle child of all his siblings he was expected to follow in the foot of his family's pride, becoming a knight and be married off to a noble lady of Arcadia. However, he had other plans from the start. Refusing to becoming anything but what was expected of him, Reign became a Monster Hunter for the Kingdom of Arcadia. Sneaking off from his knightly duties forced upon him, he patrolled the borders of Arcadia to add any new trophies to his secret collection. Whether they were claws or fur.
After his mother found out about his nightly ventures and being the head of the family even though his father was still around, she disinherited her son the moment he refused to be married off to a noble lady. She was tired of his rebellious attitude and ruining the reputation of the house. Reign accepted and removed himself, as much as it hurt to leave his siblings and father behind he dealt with being pushed out from their life by his mother, that he always had a hard time dealing with.
This was a turning point for him, he was asked to be brought to the King of Arcadia. Upon his arrival, King Leori accepted the Monster Hunter as his loyal knight. Allowing him to do as he pleased as long as he was to serve this Kingdom and keep the people safe and Reign accepted the offer giving him the title of "Royal Hound".

THE FALL OF ARCADIA

Years passed but on a night of a Lunar Blood Moon a curse fell upon the Kingdom, children who were out on the moon turned beast at the command of an Elder Being to bring chaos and massacre to towns and villages. Only those without protection from Elder Beings saw the illusions of the child the beast represented and those with protection saw the black beasts that the children turned into. That was the start of the fall of Arcadia. At dawn, after a long battle with the lasting strange moon, the children who became said beasts returned to normal. Among them was a white haired elf by the name of Lyrel who was found by Reign hiding within fallen rubble of a home. Reign nursed the girl back to health and a mark was left on her eye. Within passing day the mark gave away clues about the child and the curse that she bared. On nights of the full moon all the children were turned back into hungry beasts and when that night was over they would turn back.

Thanks to this pattern of hunge, Reign was able to determined that all the children baring the mark of the moon were to turn the night of the full moon and keeping them fed throughout the upcoming days would prevent them from going out of control the night off. However, they couldn't prevent that for all the children and beast still roamed on those nights seeking destruction. Leori was concerned as this was leading to a food shortage and requested the help of the Elders. However the Elders themselves had a battle between each other when Elder Elai-shi devoured a fragment of the God of Fate allowing him to overpower half of his brethren. The other Elders escaping to the other side of Arcadia for safety. Angered by this Elai-shi turned his site and his army of Undead Beasts to the Arcadian Kingdom.

The war was not sudden as Leori knew from the senses of the decaying land that his army was marching forth. Reign knew that his young King was ready for the war whether it was life or death Reign was willing to be at the side of his King like the loyal hound he was. Leori told Reign that if he did not make this to try and reach for the other side as he knew his other self would bring hope. Reign knew that this meant his King was going to make the sacrifice for his people. With no help from the Elders, King Leori could only count on his Military and himself to survive outlast this war. At the dawn of the last march by Elai-shi's army, Reign was gifted with a strange gift by Leori. A trusted fragment of an old friend that slipped inside of Reign allowing for Reign to gain considerable amount of power. Resting upon the crystals of his half-giant heart. Leori along with Reign stood in the open field facing towards the marching undead army. At that moment Reign saw the power of the young King, speaking the name of the Forgotten God.

TRUE KING'S HOUND

The battle raged with Leori's forces taking on the beasts that they could and Leori himself facing off against Elai-shi. Reign managed to handle the rest of the vermin along side his family and soldiers. A young Lyrel joined along his side at just the young age of fourteen but already she was proving to be difficult for the enemies to take ahold of as she was quicker on her feet than Reign was. She only needed a few hours before the moon would rise and her squad of cursed children would have an advantage on the fight. Reign kept himself steady while keeping his eye on his King who seemed to be handling the Elder quite well.

It was tiring, the more the beast fell the more appeared and his King was beginning to tire from the excessive use of his power. Lyrel was barely keeping up and she herself had slowed down quite a bit, still keeping up. Everything was falling apart but the clock finally ticked a turning point. Lyrel fell to her feet as her transformation took form along with others baring her curse. Reign protected her while she did so and quickly all the children with the curse took upon devouring the undead creatures. Allowing for Leori's army to take the advantage. Reign had regained hope that they were to survive this but a laughter of the Elder broke out across the war and in it's larger fox like form Reign looked upon a the shattered Celestial. Elai-shi had gotten ahold of an exhausted Leori by the throat. Reign immediately rushed over.

Elai-shi didn't wait and plunged into the heart of the King devouring it to strength himself and dropped the body of the dead King shattering the Celestial form along with him. The screams of the field covered the hard sound of his body hitting the ground, a punctured whole on the young King's chest, his vibrant red hair covered the escaping blood from his large chest wound. Reign furious at the thought of losing his King sunk himself into his mind and sparks of lightning traveled across his now slowly transforming form following a large growl. Elai-shi only found it amusing until the presence of another made itself known. Someone he had been awaiting for as from the heavy clouds of the knight another large creature came down upon him, revealing a large portal above her. Elai-shi's form fell back against the form of another similar a black large fox against his white one, shaking and causing several land changing fissures against the battle. His sister, Hui-shi, plunged her Naginata against her twin brother, shattering his fox form and reducing him to his humanoid form. This gave Reign the chance he needed to try his best to end Elai-shi but it was no use as he quickly slipped away after whispering words to his sister. Furious the Hound himself nearly lost control only to be knocked unconscious by the very gaze of the Elder Hui-shi.

AFTERMATH

Beasts continued to roam the land and what was left of Arcadia was large tall walls that protected what remained of it's people. A broken Kingdom left without a King. Reign lost most of his family and now focused himself of rebuilding Arcadia as he awaited for the arrival of the True King from the other side. Hui-shi gave him her blessing and the visions of a possible future when both sides will merge and peace would be brought back. Reign never allowed anyone near the throne of his fallen King and only sat upon the lowest steps to the throne awaiting for the day he could sink his fangs upon Elai-shi.
