ten

design notes

• ten has bristles running from the top of her head to the base of her spine, as well as on the very tip of her tail. she often covers them in aromatic oil to bundle them together, but if she's feeling too lazy she just lets them loose.
• ten always wears her beaded necklace as well as two beads on the tip of her tail (to give shape to her tail bristle).

personality notes

• ten is the ultimate it girl. she makes friends with everyone, is very quick on the uptake, has many talents (especially in the athletic department), and pretty much always radiates cheer and joy. she's a fun person to be around. people seemingly befriend her and/or fall in love with her wherever she goes!
• she's a very fast runner and can also swim a little (she's trying to learn how!).
• ten is attractive and she knows it. she especially takes pride in her huge, alluring brown eyes! she always takes care to groom herself with aromatic oils and even runs it along her lashes to make them lusher and shinier. she smells good lol
• ten is kind of full of herself and narcissistic. she is very absorbed with her looks, talents, and popularity, and feels that she must always be exceptional to be loved. deep down she feels the stress and pressure of constantly needing to one-up herself, but she is so good at hiding it that she can't even admit her struggles to herself. in fact, most of the time she's entirely oblivious to those feelings; she has so much good in her life that it's easier to just push the bad away than it is to work through it.
• for all of her admirers, ten has never been one to reciprocate people's romantic feelings towards her. however, on a few recent swims she has spotted a fascinatingly beautiful sea creature that seems to be sneaking glimpses at her from behind river rocks and at the bottom of lakebeds. lately ten has been trying to swim a little more to catch another glimpse....
• i've chosen a theme song for each one of my characters that i feel both represents them melodically / lyrically *and* that i discovered around the same time i acquired them / has personal significance to that time in my life. ten's theme song is bennie and the jets - haley reinhart!

history notes

• i created ten as a doodle in my sketchbook sometime in the late spring of 2012 (sadly i don't know the exact date). she was inspired by the art and characters of griffsnuff (one of my earliest art inspirations), specifically her create an OC tutorial!
• while ten's exact birthday is unknown, i made it may 9 because that's the same date (in 2013) that i developed my first crush lol
• i have no idea why i named ten "ten" but it fits her i think
• i traded ten away in 2018 and rehomed her in 2023. one of her former owners gave her the name "mina," which i consider to be her middle name!
