design notes
- chloe's head is a bubble! she has 2 (sometimes 3) tiny bubbles that trail behind her head at all times. all of the bubbles aren't totally see through -- they are more pearly / cloudy. however, her eyes are visible through her head at all times.
- chloe's tail is thin but fans out into a ribbed fin. (ignore the other drawings of her with an otter-like tail, that is retconned now lol)
- she is built like a very small and delicate housecat but also has some otter-like traits.
personality notes
- chloe is mute.
- she's very good at swimming and spends most of her time in or under the water. she much prefers freshwater to saltwater.
- moody, withdrawn, but SUCH a lovesick puppy lol. she falls in love very easily (she's a lesbian btw) and likes to observe (aka spy on) her crushes. but she hasn't really quite figured out what she has to offer besides her undying devotion -- she knows that can push people away. her entire personality is loving others but she's scared of being loved in return. she doesn't realize that her sharpness and perceptiveness are beautiful gifts even when they're not focused towards romance.
- currently the latest object of chloe's affections is ten -- the strongest crush she has ever had, in fact. when she first saw ten, chloe thought she was another sea creature because ten's bristles look like scales. however, after much observation chloe learned that ten is primarily a land-dweller, so because chloe lives in the water, so they would never really be able to work out (#doomedyuri)... unless?
- i've chosen a theme song for each one of my characters that i feel both represents them melodically / lyrically *and* that i discovered around the same time i acquired them / has personal significance to that time in my life. chloe's theme song is stellarum salve - robert j. lake!
history notes
- i created chloe as a doodle in my sketchbook on may 11, 2013 while reflecting on my first major crush, which i developed two days earlier on may 9, 2013! i've had her ever since.
- i don't really know why i gave chloe her name. it just felt right!
