An unfortunate circumstance really.
Sterling and Vinn's relationship is rough around the edges but grows stronger the longer they are together. Their relationship was started out of tension and distrust, but Vinn was never one to back down from some trouble. The two annoy each other and bicker endlessly, yet there is a strong respect that bloomed between them that they both can't help but notice and admire.
Living separate lives with very different ways of thinking is what initially formed the two's curiosity for each other. Although Sterling was a lot more interested in Vinn than Vinn was with Sterling, Vinn's drive for knowledge got the better of him.
Despite their differences, Sterling and Vinn often feel magnetized to each other and it leads to many interesting and silly situations.
Vinn couldn't stand Sterling in the beginning. With their unfortunate first meeting, it was difficult for Vinn to trust Sterling with anything. It was a slow process of fully grasping Sterling's situation for Vinn to feel safe around the man.
Vinn catches himself enjoying Sterling's company the longer Sterling pushes into his life. It annoys him greatly, but he can't help the way Sterling creeps into his thoughts like a parasite. Vinn admires his passion and drive for the future.
Sterling wouldn't say it was love at first sight, but it was certainly something close to that. Sterling refuses to admit his affection for Vinn started so early but Ness, being his best friend, caught onto him easily.
It didn't start with Vinn's looks, but with how tenacious he is; Vinn is resolute and his intelligence is effortless. This is what attracted Sterling to Vinn instantly. Sterling just wants to be there by his side and watch him grow.
- Sterling refuses to let Vinn touch a stove ever again.
- Sterling and Vinn refuse to put a label to their relationship and prefer to just do what feels right.
- Sterling rarely will call Vinn by his real name, usually opting for the nickname he gave him, Toast. Vinn doesn't really care.
- Vinn is not really one for romantic relationships and it shows. Sterling really loves this part of him, but offers the opportunity if Vinn wants to do more.
