- During his first few years as a human, he had light skin and pitch black hair. His eyes were both brown. He was always short, only growing to be around his brother's shoulders. He was kept neatly, and if there was ever a hair out of place, he would be whipped for it. After becoming a demon, however, Skai's skin continued to darken. His hair is longer now, shoulder length, just how he always wanted it, and shaggier/messier. His teeth are now fangs, his tongue slit slightly at the tip. He's still lithe, but he made himself taller. His right eye is now silted and yellow, while the other eye, representing his human side, is still brown.
- Skai enjoys cross-dressing and can run faster in heels than in any other kind of footwear.
- He can control shadows, sometimes well enough that he can make monsters out of` darkness. In many places, this has earned him the title 'The Shadow Prince'.
- Can create a shadow doppelganger, or as it is known, Shadow Ganger.
- If he is stressed, he will hold the wrist of the hand with his eye mark on it tightly.
- Is a camboy in his spare time.
- He has a thing for blonds. This started when he was rescued by a blond stranger. A bit after becoming a demon, Skai was feeling a bit suicidal, so he attempted to drown himself in a river. A stranger saw and rescued him, but after seeing his yellow eye, fled. Skai later found out the stranger was an angel. From then on, all the blonds he ran into have been especially nice to him.
- While they're friends, Skai is terrified of Ashlin, he definitely knows she can kick his ass.
- Prefers wearing jackets, no matter the weather.
- The back of his left hand has a black eye mark on it, his demon mark. If he ever makes soul contracts with anyone, he will mark the person with a similar mark.
- Whenever he's around Jordan, his slit eyed (similar to cats) pupils grow bigger.
- His left eye is a fake, glass. Moves with magic. He only keeps it brown, for "symbolism". Ashlin thinks it's dumb.
- Calls Jordan 'Sleeping Beauty' due to the curse.
He's a slight git who has trouble putting trust in others after he was almost sacrificed to a demon by his mother. He's a flirty and seductive guy around fair-skinned blonds of either gender. Skai has trouble cooperating with others and prefers to do things his way. He constantly lies, or at the very least, hides the truth.
5 years after he was born to a noble family, rumours started spreading around that he was either a demon or a witch. Because of his slow progress in growing, his brother was taller than he was, and the fact that he had black hair and pale skin even though his family all had olive skin and light brown hair. Every night he was whipped and clawed at by his mother for being the black sheep of the family. Skai had no friends because all the other children were either scared of him or were warned to stay away from him, lest they get cursed.
One year, the polio virus started going around and Skai's brother was affected. Skai's parents went into terror and did everything they could to help him, neglecting their youngest in the process. It got to the point where Skai's mother contemplated demon sacrifice to heal her eldest, ignoring her youngest's pleas. She went through with it, however. She summoned a demon with the intent to give up Skai's life.
It backfired on her, however, when the demon ended up burning her alive, along with her house and those in it. The demon spared Skai and made him immortal after seeing the pain he endured.
However, immortality isn't all it's cracked up to be, and while Skai did try to form new connections and flings to keep his mind off of things the madness brewing under the surface finally got to him to the point where he decided to commit suicide. But, not knowing how to do it in a way that would kill him, and not being in the state of mind to look up anything he just decided to drown himself.
The attempt was foiled because a blond-haired, white-eyed stranger saw him fall into the river and jumped after him. Skai, who was barely conscious (the lack of oxygen was only going to cause him to pass out but not die, essentially putting him into a comatose state until his body was removed from the water) could tell his savour was an angel due to their angelic aura, however the angel in their panic and concern could not tell he was demonic until they were both back on the bank and the water was pushed out of Skai's lungs.
The angel, in alarm, that they had accidentally saved a demon's life, fleed after seeing Skai's eyes. The event left a deep subconscious love and appreciation for blonds to Skai after the fact, due to the angelic influence.
Skai would eventually seek out more supernatural peers for his issues with lonelessness and at one event hosted by other demons for others to connect under the same pretenses, and that's where he met Ashlin Bichan a pracited witch and occult member. The two started as fuck buddies but decided they were better off as friends.
He was with her to talk her out of her grief of losing her first human love and was there to watch over her as she became involved with her practices and occult house calls.
One of Ashlin's house calls was with the Moores, a family plagued by a more viscous curse. Skai followed her to offer assistance as he didn't have anything else going on. He took a shine to their young son, a little blond boy.
However, the Mores matriarch fell ill to a Withering curse. Ashlin never came across a cure (that would require knowing the original witch/demon who laid the curse exactly so that the reverse could be laid), but she was able to offer relief to the mother. Skai also offered more childcare to their toddler and young baby.
The father, not wanting to take up the brunt of the child's work that was now thrust on him, left in the middle of the night. Ashlin found the mother unable to move as her daughter cried. Ashlin knew Jordan was still fine because Skai just put the toddler down.
Ashlin revealed that she was a demon, and so was Skai who just entered the room, and if she gave Ashlin her consent she and Skai could each take on a child and raise and protect them until their 18th birthday. After shaking both the demon's hands, the Mores matriarch passed away finally.
Skai watched Jordan grow up feeling very protective of the boy, Jordan, and bonded with him from the start. He would admit later in secret to Ashlin that he was using Jordan to work through some of his traumas, and while he knew it wasn't healthy, he figured that would just make him a better protector in the end.
At one point this would come to bite him, however. One day Ashlin decided to take the young siblings (5 and 7 respectively) to a nearby lake. While Ashlin brought salves for Rebecca (who they didn't know at that point avoided the curse), Skai was still skeptical. While at the lake, while the demons watched from the shore, the two siblings played mermaids at Rebbeca's insistence.
Jordan ended up seizing up while under the water. Skai was the first to notice Rebecca calling for help, and pushing aside all his distaste for the water, Skai jumped in to save the boy.
Eventually, when Jordan was 17, the curse got worse. No amount of physical therapy helped and he was beginning to fade away. Deep down, being afraid to die, and Skai's heavy emotions finally getting to him; he agreed to Skai breaking his original contract and then forming a new one. This one would last the rest of Jordan's life, and should it be broken somehow Jordan would die immediately.
