Appearance

Antares is a chimera, and as such, has a mix of inspirations for her visual design. Her head most closely resembles that of a bovine, with the addition of large ears and antlers. She has a small set of feathered wings on her back.

Antares's tail is sentient and has a personality of its own. She calls him Slinky, but his true name is Scorpius. Slinky is very well attuned to Antares and her emotional state, and at times looking at him will give a better insight into how she's doing than by asking or observing Antares.

Personality

Antares is easygoing and observant, and gets along well with a variety of people. She enjoys talking with others about their life experiences, and is somewhat open about her own. She loves discussions of ethics; it’s during these discussions that she has the most to add.

Antares is quiet and studious, with undercurrents of anxiety about her situation. She harbors fears that she doesn't fit in with those around her, and that those that raised her might come looking for her and pull her back into a life she doesn't want.

Because of Antares's upbringing, she feels somewhat isolated from those around her. She does her best to combat this through making friends and learning about the wider world through college classes. Still, it's a fear her mind can't quite let go of.

Story

Antares was raised in a cult that worships certain malevolent spirits as gods. Growing up, their parents were focused primarily on their faith, and so they focused on it themselves. Their closest friend, Roch, became part of the cult’s upper echelon as a young child; through dedication, Antares soon joined those ranks.

Antares struggled with their faith, now witnessing the more alarming sides of the religion through the lens of a leader. At the age of seventeen, after several years of internal struggle, they left the church in the middle of the night, speaking to no one.

They spent the next few years adjusting to the wider world, receiving financial aid to attend college and get them onto their feet. They enjoy their classes, which paint a wider, more beautiful picture of the world. Still, they look over their shoulder, afraid their past might come to take them back.

Through college they met Cloud Nine in an intro to ethics class. The two are good friends, though Antares does not mention their past to xem, fearing that xyr interest in the supernatural might mix poorly with their own experiences.

Antares and Cloud Nine spend their time together talking about their special interests, from ethics to video games. Cloud Nine’s interest in the supernatural is something Antares doesn’t share, but she still participates in conversations about it.
