An albino blakrye sold to the military industrial complex as an infant because he was albino and the military had heard of their supposed great and uncontrollable power, and therefore was specifically after them at the time for use as experimental subjects. At worst they could be used as an energy supply, as the thinking goes, but surprisingly all the specially developed implants and equipment meant he was great at controlling his power! To the point where he could control electronics and machinery and even physical bodies living or dead, which was rather disturbing. However, the achievement of this level of control required a lot of painful implants and extensive training and broke part of his power and maybe possibly permanently messed up his mind, unless it was messed up to begin with like the military claimed. Anyway he was only the fourth experimental subject and the most successful by far, so a bit of mental instability wasn't really that great a detraction in the grand scheme of things! 

That said though, the pilot project was both extremely expensive and incredibly unreliable in achieving the desired results, and in the end only produced two successful test subjects before it was scrapped, the 4th and the 9th. The 9th, a pygmy female younger by a few years and with an incredibly dangerous personality, got along surprisingly well with the 4th, eventually developing a sibling-like relationship. One day, when the pair was still in their early teens and tweens and still puttering about the lab as test subjects, the military that created them took part in a coup and sent them out as weapons in a civil war. Eventually, after over a year and intervention from neighboring countries, the coup attempt was defeated and the nation's military practically destroyed. This did not particularly bother the pair however, who had escaped at some point during the chaos and decided to try living as adventurers for awhile! Seems easy enough, right? What could possibly go wrong?
