Thieves come in many different shades of bad. Some are more Robin Hood, giving their spoils to those who need it most. Others are purely in it for themselves and the glory.
Maxie is a polite, charming, and downright persuasive devil when she wants to be. Clearly born of noble blood, she holds her head high and never undervalues her worth. She knows just the right egos to stroke, insecurities to fan, and promises to make in order to get what she wants - which is usually their money. But she’s not all sweet smiles and sweeter words. If she does not want something from you and you happen to be getting on her nerves, Maxie can be down right rude.
She's an impulsive creature that takes whatever holds her fancy in the moment without much thought for consequences or future uses. Acting without much forethought or planning often lands Maxie in trouble, more than she can handle. If it were not for a mysterious benefactor, Maxie surely would be locked up for a long time. Not that Maxie seems particularly bothered by that truth. If anything, she sees herself as untouchable. While a thief, cheat, and a liar, Maxie has no desire to cause undue harm on others. She will protect herself and what's hers if need be but she would much rather charm her way out of trouble or simply run. Violence isn't really her way. Her paws are meant for many things, but battle is not one of them.

Details
Present
A sharp change from her somewhat cushy beginnings, Maxie now lives the life of a drifter and a vagabond. She wanders from city to city, taking what she wants and living by her own rules.
She spends her nights in makeshift camps, squatting in abandoned buildings, or when she is in the area, in the house of her benefactor. Staying in one place for long doesn't sit well with Maxie so she is often gone once more within the month, moving onto the next city and next grand heist.
History
Antoniette Maxine Lupin was born into the low ranking noble Lupin family. Despite their relatively low status, her parents had visions of grandeur and would go to great lengths to raise their status - even marrying off their eldest daughter to a man they had never met. Antoniette wasn't particularly fond of this idea. She had grown up free of sharing her parents ambitions, mostly due to her terrible habit of wandering only to be forcibly dragged back to the estate by one of their few servants. She was a free spirit with ideas and plans of her own. Neither of which involved being stuck in a convenient marriage to someone she'd never be attracted to.
So she formed her own plan.
She played along with her parents' scheme for a while; meeting her arranged husband, flirting with him despite how much it made her want to gag. And then, on the day of her wedding, she absconded with the wedding gifts and various other items from the venue, leaving her 'poor fiancé' at the altar.
Free and on the road, Antoniette decided it was time for a new name. Taking inspiration from her middle name, she chose the name "Maxie" to call herself from that point on - although she would still use her old name when it suited her needs.

Trap Making
Maxie is a master of laying traps. Whether they be simple or extravagant, Maxie can produce any trap with flair. She always creates flawless traps to catch her enemies, even if they don't stay there.
Pickpocketing
Her hands are small and delicate, the hands of a lady in waiting. But the same hands meant for a noble woman can also be used to divest men of their watches and coins.
Lockpicking
Perhaps the easiest way to get past a door, it was the first skill Maxie truly mastered - all the way back as a child trying to pilfer cookies from the kitchen.
Baking
Maxie adores sweets. She always has and always will. While she might not have a kitchen any more, she still enjoys whipping up a few sweet treats when she can.

The man her parents picked for her to marry - that she ultimately betrayed and left at the altar, taking many gifts and treasures with her. He seemed to go out of his way to try and charm her, to make the marriage work. Cute, considering she has never been even remotely interested in men. He served his purpose to her as her last defiant act to humiliate her parents before she disappeared forever.

A self-righteous vigilante and an absolute pain in Maxie’s ass. When working in Kilen City, Maxie does her best to avoid this green Kamishiba. Luckily, Maxie is FAR smarter than the green idiot and thus is always able to lead her into a trap and escape.
Minor Annoyance
Storm
Another Kilen City vigilante. Unlike Karma, Storm is more likely to ignore her and let her go about her business - provided she only steals from certain businesses and Kamishiba. It makes Storm far easier to deal with. As long as Maxie stays within her bizarre moral guidelines. If Maxie steps a toe out of line or steals from the wrong person, she won’t spend a night in a cell like Karma would do. Storm is more than happy to beat Maxie for her crimes.
