Candle is a rather amiable and soft-spoken individual, willing to take some time out of the day to help folks with their problems if they happen to stumble close to the shrine the Litwick lives at, be it spiritual or even more mundane problems. This is because Candle believes that no one deserves to be truly alone when it's time to pass to the other side. The Litwick doesn't really understand why so many folks express weird looks whenever Candle mentions that though...and then usually proceed to excuse themselves only to practically bolt away. Usually Candle just shrugs and goes on with the day, however sometimes the ghost-type couldn't help but think if there was something misspoken with how uneasy some of them looked. While the quiet life away from the city has made Candle into someone very thoughtful, being very mindful about taking care of others feelings, the Litwick can sometimes be very oblivious to certain social cues and how some conversation topics require more tact.

Candle is also very well learned, as a certain Ralts had accidentally discovered. Finding that the Litwick has a seemingly bottomless well of random knowledge, Xeyen has often times gone to Candle to consult with, appreciating the calm aura that Candle seem to exude at all times. Having grown close and fond of the co-leader of Team Mystic Cloak throughout all the years since they first met, Candle had taken on the role of mentor to the Ralts, teaching her some combat skills and being a well-needed company. However, Candle does have moments where the ghost nearly gave the young Ralts, and sometimes by extension her Applin friend, a heart attack. Candle is capable of sounding very convincing with the most calm and deadpan expressions that the leaders of Mystic Cloak can never tell if the Litwick is actually trying to dupe them into some hare-brained stunt to help with their anxiety or just genuinely about to show them something interesting. Candle always makes sure to never do something that would actually tramuatise them though. Candle does want them to improve after all with some good ole' lessons. They're kinda unorthodox though and perhaps a touch too mischievous...

Trivia

• Candle doesn't actually smoke but are quite fond of the smell of incense and often light some to burn in their modified smoking stick.
• Has a stash of various tea leaves in storage at home and will often brew different blends to suit each guests.
• Candle is a master in hand-to-hand combat, being deemed an essential subject in the community the ghost grew up in. However, this only applies when in gijinka form.
• Candle has booby-trapped the entire area around the shrine grounds during a moment of boredom and has upkeep it since then. Xeyen is very careful about following the secret safe path the Litwick has gotten her to memorise.

History

Candle was born as a ghost-type, being in a curious position of always having being a form of undead rather than having some past life previously. The Litwick was raised in a community of exorcists and shrine guardians, its people guarding against those spirits that were more malevolent in nature. Their community was rather secluded, despite being on the same island as the bustling city of Allurian but their isolation was more a matter of choice as it was easier for them to perform their duties in a quieter setting. Candle had a rather disciplined but not unkind childhood, learning all there is about exocirsm, rituals and traditions about keeping spiritual balance. When Candle was old enough, the Litwick chose to move out of the little community to a chosen shrine and lived there as its guardian. Guiding any lost spirits and keeping the area balanced in spiritual energy.

One particular day when the Litwick was performing the usual duties, Candle came across a rather lonely spirit in the form of a young Ralts quietly sniffling by the pond. Rain started to fall and the Litwick quitely held out an umbrella over the both of them. As distracted as the Ralts was, she didn't notice the rain not hitting her until belatedly. She looked surprise and Candle offered her a warm smile, inclining his head to the shrine nearby, asking without words if she wanted some shelter. Ever since that day, Candle saw the Ralts once in awhile, looking nervous but nevertheless returning for the Litwick's company. Over time, the two got to know each other and to Candle's amusement, the Ralts even started to see the ghost as a sort of mentor figure. It was nice to have company once again so when the Ralts came back after a long time of absence, all nervous smiles and an Applin in tow, Candle accepted the offer to her new team without hesitation.
