Will follow her chosen family, namely Zero, to the ends of the world as she understands what it's like to be lonely and abandoned. Xeyen has little qualms about plunging headfirst into the unknown. She is by no means reckless, but sees it as an opportunity for exploring, and if there was still a slight chance, she was willing to try to save those in need. Not only that, she has learned to make use of her surroundings to her advantage while growing up alone for a bit, such as knowing what plants are good and what leaves can do as a bandage in a pinch

Since Xeyen never found out why she was abandoned, her paranoia believes that it was somehow her fault and she constantly frets about standing out and would become very uncomfortable if she feels that people are talking about her. However, she can get rather aggressive on a topic that she's very invested in to the point she will consider going against the authorities if she thinks what she's doing is right. Alternatively, she could get very invested in helping out that she'll work tirelessly to get something done to the point of overworking herself. She does this as she knows what it feels like to be downtrodden and doesn't want others to feel the same, especially if they are undeserving of it.

Xeyen knows it's irrational and unfair to feel resentment to Zero's newfound family despite being happy for him. A small part of her still couldn't help but feel like the family took Zero away from her and sub-consciously stopped herself from bonding with the Meowstic family herself. She blames it on being a Ralts, feeling emotional pain amplified by being a natural empath and that Zero managed to find happiness without her. It added to her fear that something was wrong with her that led her to her initial abandonment at the orphanage. She has currently kept this issue to herself, not wanting to cause trouble and make the situation awkward. This plays in part to her possessiveness, as she didn't have much growing up and treasured whatever she had deeply. While she's rather rambunctious around Zero, she easily gets anxious when dumped into a situation where she has to deal with a crowded social setting.

Trivia

• While Ralts are naturally able to sense emotions, Xeyen has become particularly good at sensing negative ones due to the need to constantly look out for people with bad intentions when she was growing up. The effects of this have lasted since then.
• Xeyen has no desire to find her biological parents, accepting that she was left at the orphanage for reasons she may never know. While she has made peace with never knowing about them, she still has lingering fears of abandonment.
• She and Zero were supposed to form a team as soon as they turned 18, but she sensed Zero's fear and didn't want to force him into it. Instead, she allowed a grace period of another year where she slowly chipped away at it enough to finally drag him to creating a team.
• The best friends have a strong mental link to each other, which is how they can work so well together in a dungeon.
• Her favourite food is apple pie as it reminds her of home and her apple family.
• She owns a dark-coloured bandanna with an apple clasp, made by her Appletun nana that she lived with for a time. The apple clasp was originally made for Zero and a Ralts' horn for her as name tags but the two friends swapped them. Preferring to have each other's clasp than their own.

History

Xeyen only ever remembers growing up in an orphanage and has no memory of her birth family. However, while it was a fairly standard orphanage and she was treated decently in it, she never felt loved and sought to run away as soon as she could. Unfortunately, she never did plan on what would happen once she left, so focused she was on just getting out of there that she found herself on the streets and struggling to survive.

For a time, she lived off of anything she could scavenge, whether it was from the wild or just someone else's garbage. She stuck around in a small little village when she noticed one of the houses would carelessly leave some food and apples lying near the window sill. At least she thought it was carelessly left around at first. The residents of the house, an Appletun nana and her Applin grandson had noticed her hanging around trying to find food and left them out to coax her into showing herself. At first she held distrust towards them, but the Applin looked to be about her age and she felt less wary around someone she saw as a peer.

Eventually, the pair won her over and she ended up living with them for a few good years. She formed a close bond with the Applin whose name was Zero and the two became inseparable. She also loved Nana Mila and would often try to seek out her hugs, feeling like the truest sense of home. Several years passed with the three happily living together but with the nana getting older and weaker, she simply didn't wake up one day. Sadly, nothing could be done and they were put in foster care and split up.

Being separated from Zero put Xeyen into despair and she never quite found a home after that. Being bounced around from family to family and everyone deeming her a lost cause as she would refuse to open up to them, convincing herself that the only family she'll ever have is with Zero. Once she was old enough to legally be on her own, she set off to search for her long-lost friend and eventually found him with a loving family under a Meowstic mother.

Even though she was overjoyed with their reunion, she didn't stay permanently this time despite the offer for a home. She tried for awhile, wanting to be close to Zero, but she was not able to overcome her anxious feeling of not belonging in a family that wasn't just Zero. She left the Meowstic and her family on amiable terms, knowing they were good people and that Zero will be well taken care of. They still keep in touch and she visits as often as possible, planning to set off together as a rescue team when the time comes.

Relationships

Zero Dmitriev

Childhood friend. They grew up for some time together before being split after their Nana's passing. They've been reunited not too long ago and are now embarking on their journey to be a great rescue team.

Mila Volkov

A kind Nana who took Xeyen in. Xeyen loves her dearly and hasn't been able to accept another parental figure yet since then.
