Ohré-ol-Bralvao was a lovestruck Digger of Buttercup Hills. At this time, she had been in a blossoming relationship with one of the Owsla. The two were a happy couple, and even more overjoyed as they found out they were due a litter of 5 kits. However, not all happy stories and tales of romance have cheery endings.

Born in what was supposed to be a litter of 5, he was the third born of the kits. Unfortunately, two of his siblings were stillborn, causing heavy upset for his mother. With his father currently absent, his mother grieved the loss of two kits by herself.

As weeks passed, the father of the litter hadn’t visited, seeming to avoid the nursery at all costs. However, when he showed his face, it was to announce the longing to run away. This couldn’t be argued with, and later that same week, his absence was reported and thus he was assumed missing.

Ohré-ol-Bralvao cared for her litter as much as she could with the aid of the caretakers of Buttercup Hills. The now solemn doe struggled more and more as time passed, she hadn’t even gotten to name her remaining offspring. Well, a pointless task as naming something only makes you attached - as the first born of the litter fell sick.

The only one left, what Hyaothil-Bralnao… “a future to fear”.

Named after the misfortune brought to his mother, she believed her son was a bad omen and would only bring harm to herself, himself and everybody else around him.

Leaving him to the aid of the caretakers in his later moons of kithood, the clueless young buck still grew up surrounded by joy and loving attention as the rabbits of Buttercup Hills aided him in his youth.

As the moons passed, Hyao felt little care about the absence of his mother, father and last remaining sibling. Instead, he put his focus into his communication skills. He had a lot of charisma, using this to his advantage to gain attention and whatever he wanted. Oh, it was brilliant.

Despite his lack of strength, he had a knack for stealth, speed and combat involving kicking and swiping with his claws. Hyao’s main downfall was found to be his focus… As well as somehow bringing a lot of misfortune to himself and those around him. Perhaps some crazy coincidence, but his mentor, Cirsium, jokingly nicknamed him accordingly; “the bad omen of buttercup”.

Nobody else had really called the Muddypaw such a nickname, and he hadn’t heard many others call him by it, but Hyao was far from fazed by it. If anything, it just gave him a title.

Proving himself worthy of the rank, Hyao became a member of the Owsla. The attention this rank brought him was amazing to the buck, the authority he had and the benefits of lusher grass and flowers to eat… And oh, the praise he received for his hard work.

However, the praise was short-lived. Lan-Hraeth soon took it’s rein over the warren, the summer bringing it to become a dried golden wasteland as this happened.

Although not a complete coward, he felt fear. They would surely bring their sacrifices and ways to the warren. Would he lose all he was adored for?

With the passing of a sacrifice to “bless the land in blood”, Hyao couldn’t help but remember some of the words of his mother:

“Hyaothil-Bralnao, A Future To Fear for all the pain, misery and misfortune you have caused me.”
