wandering, zany weirdo. walks with a shambling gait like they're not quite moving on their own accord - like a puppet or marionette perhaps. said to be a punished heretic, hence the name. you should tip your hat to them if they cross your path - it's bad luck not to. no one knows what's under the fur. they're a recurring figure in multiple different cultures and mythologies, found in art dating back to many many years ago. depictions differ - sometimes they are presented as a neutral fae-like creature, with the power to curse impoliteness. others present them as a fallen angel or the very first heretic, struck down by a higher power and cursed to bellycrawl across the earth for an eternity. strangely, their shoes are always red and very fashionable for the era they were depicted in.
rarely seen bipedal, hunched over with white gloved hands. theorised to be the "original" heretic. also called the wanderer
they're also kind of my mascot/closest thing I have to a sona/a sort of calling card. all of my ocs have a version of the heretic in their respective universes - they're a folkloric beast to svanhildr/cravendish etc, one of many demons tormenting florian, an old and obscure/forgotten cartoon character to mika/heidi/mockley, a brand of whiskey to els/ricky etc etc etc....they're everywhere, they take many forms, they transcend reality.....they're kind of a weird guy!
