Florian Glendower. a pretentious, moody, dry-humoured Victorian playwright who wrote a play called The Mayfly with only patchy recollection of doing so. since writing said play, he’s been haunted by disturbing visions of things he can’t quite comprehend, and has started noticing recurring signs throughout his life that have made him believe he’s the unwilling prophet of an eldritch god. the play itself he has not published or shown to anyone else. he can’t bring himself to read it despite the temptation, though he recalls the plot and characters, and certain things that cause him to grow faint when he tries too hard to remember. He believes that releasing the book into the world will free him from his predicament, but he struggles with the moral implications of what would happen if he did so. Whether any of this is real or if he really is just hallucinating all of it and slipping into insanity as a result of living in victorian england is..... a mystery.
basically some guy experiencing eldritch horrors beyond his comprehension and also he's a donkey. he has a recurring theme of maggots in his nightmares, and also his twin brother edgar who died when he was young
