Personality
Esmy is a very patient, quiet, calm man. He works diligently when he needs to and when the work is within his capabilities. Despite not being all that social, he tends to be a people magnet with his gentle demeanor and his soft, warm tone that seems like it could melt all your cares away. Sometimes, he sounds as though he is half daydreaming and not fully attentive, which very much could be the case. He finds it particularly hard to focus on a matter at hand for too long at a time and often gets distracted, especially if the distractions involve relaxing or letting his thoughts drift aimlessly. Esmy has a different perception of a lot of batters compared to other individuals.
When it comes to mortality, urgency, and fear, he finds that he sometimes grasping how other people feel. Well, perhaps grasp he can, but he doeos not feel the same. There's a level of calm and acceptance about how the world works, how life moves along and where fate brings him. That's not to say that he doesn't consider himself the ruler of his own choices and life, but he has little lingering distress over things that cannot be changed. Death for example, is not at all a burden to him, merely another step in the journey.
When it comes to those who are vulnerable or very young, Esmy's parental instinct tends to kick in. If he suspects danger or reason for keeping his guard up to protect others, he might act very recklessly, just to be safe. His calm attitude in these situation changes little, but he will definitely make more urgent decisions in the moment.
Likes
- Being in water - he, in particular, likes warmer waters, like hot springs
- Dried boar meat (he's very interested in most wild animal meats)

- Esmy does not have three eyes and one mouth, innstead they are actuallly they all function as mouths with retractable teeth
- Feel free to draw him in another chair/seat/environment - he does leave his wheelchair frequently either on his own or with help from his caretaker, Yyal
- Esmy doesn't actually have a human form, he is just dressed up and stores his tail beneath his seat, on his chair!

Trivia
- Esmy has a really hard to comprehending people who speak very stoically and flatly. It's as if you're mumbling to him. He very much reads people's tones when they speak, which also means that if others remain very calm on a horrific topic, he will also, for the most part, take it as such. By nature, not a lot of things bothers him and so he relies on other's opinion on a lot of matters to really contextualize and sympathize
- Esmy more or less has poison resistance for rotten meat - at least the kind of rot that happens to meat after soaking in water filled with algae. It's not that often that he eats that kind of meat anymore, but he certainly wouldn't throw away gamey meat
- Esmy's eyesight is a bit of a mystery. He doesn't... actually have eyes, at least any that work like ours. And yet, he sees. His eyesight isn't that well though and so he relies on his hearing a lot to recognize people and the texture of items around him
Magical Powers
- Esmy's magic is that his voice worms itself into people's minds and gets stuck like an intensive fool-proof lullaby. Usually, it puts people to sleep, but on a lighter use, it can make others merely relax, and on a much heavier usage, it can knock people out for several hours if needed. This is originally something he uses as a defense mechanism, as his kind is very much not usually confrontational unless there is reason. However, it is mostly used in water, as Esmy's kind doesn't usually go out of water. This means that it's usually more muffled. Out of water, Esmy's voice is incredibly loud and booming, if he doesn't watch it. A lot of the time he has to hum or hold back with his singing, as it very easily becomes too much
Physical Powers
- Has a really long eel tail that can almost seem like it can bend and fold on itself. His bones in it are very flexible, though it also means he absolutely cannot stand up or slither like a naga for example might be able to
- His arm strenght is also remarkable as he spend a lot fo time without a caretaker and still needed to get onto the surface once in a while. Not to mention lift and navigate underwater.
- To anyone else, it might seem like he has three eyes and a mouth, however in reality they are all eyes with retractable sharp teeth. Esmy very much tries to keep all of these closed/hidden, so as to not freak surface-dwellers out, but they are definitely all mouths. And apparently, each of them can speak/sing independently of the others, meaning he can sing a song for four voices at once... H-how does that work..?
- Esmy's hearing is remarkable. Underwater, he hears really really well and on land, he hears much, much clearer. This means that Esmy often accidentally overhears things that he isn't meant to. He does try to be polite and tune it out or distract himself by getting lost in thought when that is the case though
Backstory
Esmy grew up in Vhasmir in the waters surrounding the Temple of Regizea. As an adult he became a preacher for the Goddess Regizea, where his skillset fell under wonderfully. He was not, and still isn't, deeply devout. That said, he believes in helping others out of their suffering and to ease them through times of pain.
Being that Esmy cannot walk on land generally, he needs people can help accomodate him, and so he has collected a small entrourage of Alin and Yyal who both has magical abilities that aids him greatly.
Yyal in particular was chosen due to Esmy's move to the small nation of Vyrz, which also had a church devoted to the goddess Regizea. Nowadys he spends his time staying in Vyrz and strenghtening their connection and trade with the temple in Vhasmir. He is the one making the travel with his entourage, whenever any travelling needs to be done between the houses of faith.

Alin

Alin is part of Esmy's entourage, but their relationship also goes deeper than that. Whilst Esmy doesn't really say it, nor does Alin (of course), they have somewhat of a found family relationship, with Yyal kind of included too. Esmy is Alin's legal guardian and does take care of the Howler, but Alin equally does a lot in return to take care of Esmy and make sure he remains safe. To anyone on the outside, Esmy's kindness to Alin might not seem that different compared to the one he shows anyone else, but in truth Esmy is much more attentive when it comes to Alin and their needs.
Yyal

Esmy always enjoyed Yyal's bright attitude and strong will. It seems to complete their trio very well and he could tell that Yyal seemed to be a sincere and sweet man from the moment they met. his opinion of Yyal only seemed to grow more positive, as he saw how nicely Yyal handled and comforted Alin, despite Alin's initial passive-aggressive behavior. Yyal is a good man and Esmy trusts his strength, but physically as well as mentally a lot. It's not easy for Esmy to navigate around when he very easily gets distracted and so having Yyal there helps a lot.
Mother Vililje

Esmy actually outranks any priest or priestess in Vyrz, seen as he is from the largest temple and used to work right beneath the Archpriest Pephias himself. That said, Esmy moved to Vyrz in hopes to help the church there and partially because he very much enjoyed Vililje's company and leadership. She in turn is very grateful and respectful towards him. Esmy is the priest that usually travels back and forth between Vhasmir and Vyrz, due to his experience doing so and his track record of traveling safely. There's mutual trust in each other's devotion and good intentions but Vililje is aware that Esmy isn't human and so his way of thinking isn't always the same as what she is used to.
Melvy

Melvy and Esmy have met each other on a few occasions. Esmy and Vililje are the only people aware that the Headguard of The Southern Gate a couple of times a year will contribute to the soup-kitchen events that the church does. He usually finds time from late autumn to early spring. All Esmy knows is that Melvy wants to work in space alone and doesn't want to be around other people - it's hush-hush and the one-time Esmy asked about it, Vililje said that Melvy only had one request about it and that it was that if anyone asked, they would deny it. So, apparently, the head guard doesn't want anyone to know that why he works there. They shouldn't be talking about it at all, if possible. Esmy initially thought it was because Melvy didn't want to be connected to such a humble or "lowly" job, but he never thought it was born from anything but pride.
One night working there, Esmy heard talking from the designated kitchen and so he was unsure if someone had slipped into the kitchen with Melvy. However, after using his keen hearing to listen more clearly through the closed door, he only discerned Melvy's stressed encouragement to himself. 'It's going to be fine' and ‘This won't get out, no one will be hurt’ were phrases that stuck out to him and it made him reconsider what he knew about the guard. Furthermore, he did take notice that their budget for how much food they can make, as well as how much they can make, increases whenever that door is closed off. Esmy never actually approached Melvy about it, heeding Vililje's words on the matter. Even so, despite the fact that he knows very little aside from this and the rumors that run around Melvy, he thinks well of him. In fact, he would gladly take the chance to talk to him sometimes (on other topics of course), but alas the opportunity never arose. Maybe someday it will... Esmy would like to personally thank him, even if he can't say why can't state why Melvy deserved those words.

Friend
Vivette and Esmy are familiar with each other - though they have not spent that much time with each other talking, he admires her and the work that she does when she is in Vyrz. She truly makes him think that there's more to her god than most give the deity credit for. He considers her trustworthy and important, not just for her powers, but also because of the energy and time she puts into helping others.
