Introduction;
A prisoner who keeps to themself. Quiet and often absorbed in their artwork—something they value greatly, as their means of “saving others”. However, how much they value the person behind it for their hard work…
…Isn’t important. They watch most prisoners from a distance, finding it difficult to reconcile their personal morals with the crimes they’ve committed. What Nyx thinks about his own crime, of course— he believes he shouldn’t be in STANFORD, but his reasons for this are kept to himself.

(death cw) Story Notes;
- Nyx makes their own songs! Not only do they compose them, but they also do art and write lyrics for them. Their “duty” to make songs that help people all on their own has worn them down over the years, and they view themself as a vessel for those works rather than, like, a whole person.
- They write under the alias Nyx, and now that their family is dead they kinda just tossed the whole birth name out. In a universe where they rebuild their sense of identity they'd choose the name "Yoru".
- Nyx, while loving people as a whole, greatly dislikes society as it is—with the state society is in, after all, their songs can only provide a temporary and fleeting happiness to those whose hearts they do touch before they return to the crushing weight of working to make others richer.
- Their mother is long dead, and their father was a businessman. They never saw eye-to-eye, as their father wanted them to follow in his footsteps, and… you know. They’re an artist who hates capitalism. Although, part of why they’ve gone to such lengths in song-writing stems from a desire to work hard and make him happy to have a child like her, too. After all, he’s a person, right? He’s the only family they have, right?
- This is where their crime comes in: one day, they get into an argument, and her dad says something—she doesn’t remember what it is, but she realizes all her work to see him in better light is all for naught when he’s a person that hurts others by expecting too much
when even she never made him proud anyway. So she stabs him with a kitchen knife ♡ - He actually does feel guilty about this, even if he thinks he did the world a service. Most of why he doesn’t think he should be in STANFORD is that there are far worse people walking this earth that should be put to trial and sentenced first.
