History

D’lix’s home dimension was significantly more advanced than Earth-616, and intergalactic travel/emigration was extremely accessible for most people. He was born as the only child to a skrull and mutant couple who found each other in the vastness of space. D’lix’s father was a spaceship engineer, and his mother was a Skrull diplomat whose mission was to spread good will between the various intergalactic factions. Needless to say D’lix grew up in the life of a spacer, never really having a home world to call his own, but claiming the galaxy as his birthplace.

Growing up D’lix was exposed to many types of people both in appearance and character. His mother’s work taught him to find beauty in all forms of life, and from that grew a fierce desire to protect those who were discriminated against. Overall D’lix’s childhood was one of relative peace and happiness. He had loving parents, the opportunity to travel the galaxy, and an ample amount of friends.

As D’lix reached adulthood he started to long for a place to settle down. He loved spacer life, but also wanted to experience what a stable planet based life could be like. He decided to move to his father’s homeworld of Earth, which at this point was a melting pot for all types of life forms. He looked forward to exploring his father’s old haunts and really being integrated into mutant society for the first time in his life.

While the Earth of this reality wasn’t perfect it was much less perilous than its 616 counterpart. Instead of having to militarize his powers and identity D’lix was able to live a relatively mundane life, never having to get involved in massive conflicts. Instead he found his passion in sex work. He used his technological skills and extroverted nature to help start his own streaming channel. On D’lix’s streams he would showcase different queer metahumans utilizing their powers for sexual purposes. He wanted to show other metas that their powers weren’t created for violent purposes, and they could be used in ways that lead to fun and enjoyment. It turns out planetary life really suited D’lix, and he thoroughly enjoyed finding his community and chasing his passions.

Unfortunately this peace wasn’t destined to last. D’lix’s home dimension caught the attention of the vescora, and they quickly overwhelmed the native population. Due to their lack of major conflicts, Earth’s inhabitants were unprepared for an assault of that magnitude. Quickly their world fell to the extradimensional invaders.The last thing D’lix can remember of his old life was feeling as if he was falling into a deep abyss, and then nothingness.

In what seemed to him like a sick twist of fate D’lix awakened in a place with a shattered galaxy sky and a desolate landscape. The sensations and emotions were too real for him to believe the invasion was a dream. Somehow he had escaped annihilation, but seemingly was the only living thing around. In a fit of grief and rage D’lix fell to the ground and began to weep.

In time D’lix found the resolve to live on for those he had lost. He began wandering his new surroundings looking for any signs of life. After a long while he came across another person sitting amongst some ruins. This was his first meeting with Sanctuary his soon to be teammate and friend. It turned out Sanctuary was another survivor of a universal extinction event who wound up here in what D’lix was now told was Blightspoke. The two became fast friends and braved the harsh wastelands together.

Eventually other mutants would fall through the dimensional cracks and fall into Blightspoke. They banded together as a found family, and formed the newest iteration of The Exiles. While D’lix is still dealing with his grief, he and his family have made a new home for themselves in Otherworld. Recently The Exiles even came into contact with Earth-616’s mutants and started a cooperative relationship. D’lix is back to his streams and trying to move on with life, but with a newly found sense of justice. He still holds a grudge against the vescora and vows to one day rid them from the multiverse.

Personality

In general D’lix is a laid back individual. He enjoys the pleasures in life and rarely bothers with petty drama or arguments. While he’s not a peacekeeper he does do his best to keep his teammates from arguing with each other. However even he knows sometimes these things are unavoidable. D’lix loves to read and learning new things is his favorite hobby. He and Akasha often have in-depth discussions on many broad topics.

In terms of more detrimental personality traits D’lix has his fair share. Ever since his traumatic experience he gets violent very quickly when a loved one is harmed. He is still learning to tame that rage to maintain control. He also has a hard time connecting with new people, and often puts a barrier in between himself and others. He wants to love and be loved again, but outside of his teammates he’s scared of losing someone else. His family is helping him work through this on his own time.
