- He has a tattoo under his right pectoral that says HAPPY, and a tattoo behind his right ear of the victory banner.
- His scars no longer hurt him, but he is uncomfortable when he stretches so much. The skin doesn't have much elasticity.
- He has a glass left eye.
- The right side of his face does not emote well due to the scarring and thickening of the skin.
Sonam is happy-go-lucky man with hopes to a better person than the day before. After a fire incident that left his scarred and disfigured for life, Sonam learned to love himself, and more importantly, love those around him. He understands that he is different and he can be scary to others, but he will still love them despite how they treat him in the beginning.
He is proud of his scars (he is a survivor!) but understands that they might frighten younger children, so he usually wears a sleeve to cover the majority of his arm scars, as well as hats. He tries his best to make those around him comfortable, and does his best to educate those around him.
- His favorite hobby is bird watching. He likes to test his bird knowledge.
- His best friend is Jun, who is blind. Sonam likes to pull pranks on him.
- He still practices Buddhism, just not as dedicatedly as when he was young.
- His favorite mala beads are made from sandalwood. Whenever he smells them, he instantly is transported back to the monastery.
- Sonam does not know how to talk to women. He's terrifed of embarrassing himself in front of them.
