Personality

Annabel is the epitome of a Southern Belle in the streets and a country girl in the sheets. A girl raised on family values of loyalty, hospitality, and patriotism: Annabel makes everyone feel at home simply by having them around her. Her charm is centered around treating a person equal to herself. She asks questions without being prying, offers them snacks with courtesy, and is honest about what she thinks. Still, that doesn't mean Annabel won't be brave or brazen when she deems it necessary. Annabel will look at a man in the eye and demand honesty and amnesty if it means helping her friends, and will always put her family over anyone else when push comes to shove for their safety.

Annabel can be pretty dramatic for some, as her ability to analyze tends to lead into analysis-paralysis for days on end based on the simplest premise. She can spit refusals while doing exactly what she refuses to do like some sort of hypocrite because she can't say what she means due to fear of seeming vulnerable. This has lead to relationships as shallow as a puddle. Her love of theatrics is intentionally done so for attention, and her love of idle gossip has caused her to vex the more practical sort for even entertaining the notion of "tale spunning". Though these are seen as more colorful displays of personality rather than actual flaws. At the end of the day, most people tend to have issue with what she represents rather than who she actually is.

About

Annabel Lee was born to a nouveau riche family of the South. The apple of her father's eye, he sent both her, and her brother to Britain in order to protect them from the damage of the Civil War.

With nothing but a handful of servants, and her older brother by her side, Annabel set up a small shop selling shipments of precious rocks, and minerals from her family's Liberian mine.

History

Annabel was born to a family of aristocrats in the deep South. Despite being generations in, her family was constantly mocked for being "new money". Her grandfather was the one who took stock in a Liberian Diamond mine after the colonization of the country in 1821, and there the family lineage began to rise in status to society. Individuals however...It didn't help her blood was mixed, thus, seen as "dirty".

Still, she had her family: a loving mother, a doting father, and a protective older brother. That was enough for her, and she simply did her best to be the Southern Belle her family, and society expected of her. Though she loathed the corsets, and jewelry that her peers adored, she feigned delight in attempts to make alliances while behind society's back: rode horses with her brother, and shot wild game in the nearby woods. Annabel didn't think much of the Natives that would have been angry at any intrusion on the land they had left, but she did try and perk up any slaves she met on the way. She knew it was wrong, but they looked like people to her too, and she knew only a few shades darker she'd be in their place instead.

Seeing the wind blowing downwind, Annabel's father ordered her, and her sibling be shipped off to Britain in order to protect them from the Civil War. Father took up arms in hope he'd gain support for his family, and mother stayed to be just by his side. Annabel felt it was bullshit; she felt she had a right to stay, and they should instead fight against slavery--not for it, but what her father says: he gets.

Annabel was shipped alongside her brother to Britain with some servants, a notice for Liberian shipments, and her cat, Edgar. What will happen next is anyone's guess...

Indian Butler Arc

Annabel's first appearance took place after the Curry Contest. She congratulated Ciel & Sebastian on their win against Harold Jebb as she disliked the man as well as anyone for his obsession with trendy things, and for looking down on the Earl and herself for their young age. Ciel didn't seem perturbed by her appearance, and stated plainly his thanks. Sebastian simply stared her down, which caused Annabel to sweat.

After she left, Soma and the others asked the Earl who she was. Ciel looked visibly annoyed at being put on the spot, but he replied that she was simply "An Ally in Arms". It was only through prodding he revealed more. "She is the owner of one of England's best gem distributors, that is all."

Circus Arc

Annabel doesn't make much of an appearance here however Ciel does visit her shop in London. He converses with her about diamonds, and how despite being one of the most popular for weddings they are not nearly as tough or beautiful compared to emeralds, sapphires, or rubies. Annabel comments on Ciel's ring, to which he states it came from his family lineage. He asks her if she has any items from her own family, but she responds no. Ciel says it's best she makes one then.

After the death of the main cast of Noah's Arc, Annabel visits the disarrayed mansion. The servants are mortified and Sebastian was ready to cover it up in front of her until Ciel orders Sebastian not to. Annabel says simply she'll help the servants, but Ciel tells her not to because of her higher class. Annabel ignores him, which makes him pause.

Nina Hopkins' appearance scares Annabel to try and quickly leave. She despises tailors as she hates being dressed more gaudy than necessary. Nina pays her no mind until Ciel states that Annabel would be a nice challenge for her...to which after much back and forth Nina agreed. "Hmm...for once you make a good point, Earl. If I do go out of my usual market, I would make more money, but...I have said many times I have no interest in children over fifteen."

Phantomhive Manor Murders Arc

Annabel was invited alongside the other's to Ciel Phantomhive's party, but she had to be prodded by the Earl to actually come. He knows she's as much of a recluse as he is, but he really wanted some company that would not be 'irritating' like those above him. Not only that, but he really preferred Annabel to assimilate Georg Siemon's Diamond polishing business, and hoped Annabel will take the bait.

At the party the girl and Georg got into a heated conversation in regards to their rivalry of gem distribution. Annabel thankfully left the man; she felt the argument pointless and wanted rather to talk to the writer. She was curious of the man after Ciel payed so much attention to him, but Ciel told her it's best she not get too entangled into other's affairs. Annabel didn't understand, but complied. Ciel had to elaborate that he didn't mean that towards the writer, but to Georg.

Immediately, Annabel was considered a suspect thanks to the rivalry she held with Georg, but Annabel hotly stated that she wouldn't even want to get near the man to do such a heinous thing. "I was honestly...helping the servants." Thankfully, Mey-rin & the others confirmed it.

Annabel for one second didn't believe Sebastian was dead, but she didn't rule out the possibility that he was mortally wounded. She wondered if Sebastian was hit by something Holy, but dismissed the thought seeing how adamant Ciel was in Sebastian not being in danger. After all, she trusted Ciel's judgement.

With each passing moment Annabel felt more and more anxious. Ciel told her it's best for her to eat in her room if she feels so troubled, but Annabel stated she felt fine to go. "Do you want me alone, Earl?" "Not at all." Ciel replied. He knew Annabal was implicating him in the murders but even he knew he misstepped. So in his own roundabout way he apologized by ordering Tanaka to give her any extra dessert he found in the kitchen. Luckily, Tanaka found some Apple tarts to give the young lady. The snacking will have to wait, however, as Wordsmith was concerned about Mr. Phelps.

Annabel alongside Wordsmith was the only one that always had an alibi at the ready for each new murder, however, as she showed much faith in the Earl like his servants she was under scrutiny. That is the reason the Earl picked Wordsmith over her to lead the case. She was checked alongside every other women by Mey-Rin, who found nothing of curiousity but a book on the Occult.

With the sudden appearance of the priest, Jeremy, Annabel became stiff. She wondered if he could tell of her...interest in the occult, but he merely smiled at her. Annabel was relieved, she felt that meant he didn't know of her true status. The message from Sebastian didn't hurt. Annabel decided to put her faith in Sebastian, and hoped she wouldn't regret it.

With the case solved, Annabel was balking at the revelation of Ciel wanting to enter the jewelry business. Still was, actually. She tried to be light and said that she would liked for some "actual competition", but Ciel merely seemed amused. He even offered if she'd like to partner with him instead, as he feels Mr. Rose was rather tedious of a man. Annabel immediately refused. Wordsmith's return ended that conversation, and his accusation of Jremy lead to Annabel's gears turning. "Revenge? Competition, or both, dear Earl?"

Wordsmith immediately questioned Annabel, as well. He wanted to know how much she knew about this but Annabel refused to respond. Ciel had to interrupt Wordsmith's prodding, as he knew Annabel wouldn't do so, herself. She sat stiffly as she had Elevensies with the Earl, and writer. The writer was more anxious as Annabel simply looked away guiltily whenever Wordsmith looked to her.

Again, Ciel brought up the idea of he and Annabel collabing on a jewelry shop, but she refused. She didn't believe the Earl serious, and thought him about to go to Mr. Rose's heir to collab, not her. Ciel seemed slightly annoyed, but respected her descion. He stated that if she changes her mind, she must tell him. "A-alright...Earl." "Ah? What's with the title, aren't you higher in rank compared to me?" "Yes, but..." "...Nevermind, but I insist you refrain from any formalities from this point on." "...Okay."

Annabel wasn't sure what to do in regards to Snake, but Ciel made the choice for her to keep quiet, like Sebastian. At the funeral she stayed silent, but was seen leaving yellow daisies. Ciel remarked on her sense of humor, to which Annabel smiled.

Luxury Liner Arc

To be simply put, Annabel was invited by Ciel to come, as she was a witch. The occult wouldn't have been so bothersome for her, and she seemed to like to entertain herself. However, she never replied...Ciel, to Sebastian, showed visible concern, but could not find nothing of her whereabouts. Ciel, trusting Annabel not to wander off, and thinking highly of her, stated that she's probably already knows...or is apart of that society. Either way, after this, they'll look for her.

Long story short, Annabel disguised herself to board the Campania known as Sophie Smith. As Annabel was a rather inexperienced witch, however, the after-effects were strikingly apparent. Not only did she create a whole new appearance, but a whole new persona!

She flirted with a man, curious of him. He was rather polished for a 3rd class passenger, after all. She couldn't remember why, but she felt that maybe here was here to collect something? 3rd class passengers are easy pickings for slave trades, and organ thievery....Why does she barely remember a thing? Why did that man leave so suddenly? She felt the need to follow him, but was halted continuously by other partygoers...

Something was wrong, Annabel knew it, she got up, fed up and left, trying to follow the blonde man despite all the distance he between them. However, she couldn't find him and ended up getting lost. She decided to retrace her steps, and enter her room, but heard commotion outside. Her mind snapped out of its own illusion, and reality set back in as she saw people eating eachother. She knew who she really was, and to protect her servants and Edgar, she turned them all into clothing and stuck them into a luggage. Her thoughts flew fast, trying to think of how to not get eaten so she can come back to them later. Ultimately, she took to much time and had to force her way out of her own room by bashing a zombie intruder's head. Still, glamoured, and with fresh tears at seeing such innocent lives lost, she ran, and tried busting heads, but lost her weapon as too many came upon her, at once. She fled, fearful of what will happen next...and only one spell came to mind through all the panic...

Annabel will admit that she could have thought better, but doesn't give a damn. Her spell of regeneration worked, and that's all that mattered. The pain from all the bites did put her out of sorts, but even she knew the suited man wasn't an illusion. She felt fury bubble in her aching chest at the suited man's---no--the Reaper's obvious apathy, and pointed her finger in order to place a spell on him, but he seemed not to notice her slight movement. Going on how bored he was, he left, but not before giving her "corpse" a wink. This flabbergasted Annabel, but after her regeneration completed itself, she stood up, and went to collect her servants and Edgar to get out of this "isolated, floating, prison".

Instead of running around willy-nilly trying to locate Ciel and everyone, Annabel used a simple locator spell, and found the closest person was Snake. She decided to go to find the man, after collecting her luggage, and changing into a dove to fly through all the danger.

Annabel found herself getting delayed and delayed to get to Snake, for corpses still care to catch her, regardless of changed species. She found herself disoriented, but found Snake in the 3rd Boiler room. He said it's probably best she stay a dove, as she'll be able to keep track of Ciel better, as well as be safe. He said he'll tell the earl of her visit later, but for now it's best she keep track of a man known as "Ryan". He immediately filled her in on what he has learned from the Earl, and what Ryan looks like so she can find him. Annabel, after some hesitating, agreed and flew away. She did find the man, and would have revealed himself if Grelle didn't appear in front of her face. "Eh?! What's a pigeon doing here?"

Annabel wanted to peck the Reaper's eyes out, but instead she tried to fly and get to Ciel, and instead was snagged by Ronald. Helplessly, she decided to bite his finger, and in surprise he yowled. "The dove just had to ruin my moment!" He hissed, lunging for the bird again. Annabel sqwacked, about to stab her beak into his face when Grelle smacked Ronald, and said that only newbies let dumb animals get to them. Ronald stiffened, clearly angry, but followed Grelle as he dragged Ryan to his room. Annabel quickly whispered a locator spell for Ciel, and followed behind, not being seen by the reapers or Ryan.

Annabel knew she could have used magic to teleport everyone away from the ship, but as Ciel wanted one of his "chess pieces" hidden, and all evidence would be gone no matter what she did, she let Ciel and Sebastian figure out how to get out of this mess. Her locator spell reached Sebastian and helped him locate the machine that could put a stop to the Bizarre Dolls, and that's all that mattered. She wished Ronald was eaten by the Dolls, though, as well as the Undertaker and the Viscount.

Annabel sat comfortably between the rafters as the Undertaker explained his lies, his curiousity, and his methods. She felt her claws sink into the wood in fury. Though she can't blame a man for satiating his curiousity, that doesn't mean she has to roll over and take it. The undertaker almost killed her, after all.

"Don't intervene. Don't intervene." Annabel repeated. The fight was fierce, and she felt sorry for even the Reapers during the fight, but she never moved as she put so much faith in the Earl and Sebastian. To this, she still considers even now her biggest source of shame. As Ciel was about to have a great fall she thought of changing the Undertaker to a creature unable to carry a scythe, but Sebastian reached Ciel first. Thus the memories came out...and Annabel saw everything...

"They really are amazing..." Annabel thought. Sebastian and Ciel never wavered in reaching for eachothher, and that for a moment made Annabel envious in wanting a partner that reaches for her, romantic or not.

As Ciel and Sebastian found a lifeboat, Annabel simply landed upon Ciel's shoulder, still a dove. Ciel took no notice, too distracted by this night's events. Hearing all the screaming made Annabel freeze. For a few seconds, Ciel looked to her and she used magic to warm up his body. He told her nothing as Sebastian pushed the boat, and was about to give him a spell of speed until he was bitten. Annabel--for a bird--sighed and changed to her original form. Grabbing a plank, she helped Sebastian fend off the swarm of the Bizarre Dolls. She knew Ciel was angry with her, and having felt that anger recently herself, she felt she had no right to comment on it. At least Sebastian found everything amusing.

After healing Sebastian with a concotion of nightshade and wolfsbane, Annabel and Ciel arrived home. Though Ciel still wouldn't talk to her, she was alright with that. It was surprising she was invited for Easter at all. She sat the game out, not interested in competition as well as lacking a partner. She did however, enjoy the first meal like everyone else.

Public School Arc

Ciel messaged Annabel, asking if her shapeshifting abilities include changing into the opposite gender. Annabel balked at first, but hesitantly asked why. That's when Ciel admitted about the public school disappearance and asked if she'd like to come and be of service. Annabal, flustered, agreed, and that she'll meet up with him shortly...

Annabel hated being at the Weston College cricket game. First, she had to unchange, and second, there was this creepy mohawk wearing man--no-boy--hitting on her. She thinks his name was Cheslock? She found herself uncomfortable under his gaze, as if he saw right through her, and she hated it. She looked on with Elizabeth as all form Prefects gave to the fire of St. George, but was crowded back until Elizabeth noticed and pushed her back to the front. Thanking her, she breathed out a sigh of relief.

Annabel is not seen for the rest of the arc until the final chapter, where the earl visits her jewelry store. He comments its gotten bigger, to Annabel replying that it has and she hates it. That simply means more responsibilities. Ciel, for a moment, smiled in amusement at such a response. Finnian and the others have immediately butted in, however, and Finnian stole the attention Annabel gave ciel. She offered him some mints she gave out free, but was stopped by a yellow and black patched cat with green eyes sitting on the plate. Sebastian raised a brow as the cat growled at him, but Sebastian was told to put the cat away as Ciel was allergic. Annabel quickly balked, stating she will do so since it's "her cat".

Picking the cat up by the scruff, she hurled the creature into the adjacent room and closed the door, stating shyly "I'm so sorry for such forgetfullnes, Ciel!" Ciel gently bops her head, saying it's alright, just please don't do it, again."

Emerald Witch Arc

Annabel does not appear until the very final chapter of the arc. Elizabeth specifically requested her to help with Sullivan's etiquette--being a young lady, herself.

Annabel can't say she was jumping for joy to help. She did not think herself "ladylike" and only acted so far to not be suspicious. Still, Sullivan was eager to meet her, as the Earl revealed he does know of a real witch (though rather bluntly thanks to Sebastian revealing Annabel). They visited her shop and found her with the same cat in the last arc in her lap as she polished some emeralds. Ciel confronted her on her truth, to which Annabel confirmed. Ciel would have slapped her until Sebastian stopped him, feeling betrayed by such casual behavior of a longheld secret. Still, Annabel helped and explained many things to Sullivan, who was mortified by the display before.

Blue Cult Arc

Annabel makes a rather unfortunate appearance in the Concert Hall Edward attends. Edward notices among the crowd and asks her how she attends to these balls. Annabal is flustered by how forward Edward is, as she and him have only communicated once because of Elizabeth. It's flattering to be recognized, but not by Cheslock. The boy followed Edward and remembered her, as well. This results in the punks flirtations picking up right where they left off until having to be dragged away by Gregory. After such a debacle, it was almost a relief to have Edward ask her to a silent dance. He knew Annabel was distressed, and he knew that a dance would take her mind off things.

Edward felt Annabel was rather popular as immediately another male butted-in to their conversations. With green eyes and two-toned colored hair, he forcibly shoved Edward to side as he simply said "I'm sorry, young one, this lady already owed me a dance". Before Edward can say anything else the other took Annabel away by the hand, and Edward noticed how distraught Annabel seemed.

Simply put, Ciel asks Annabel if she knows anything after getting his finger pricked, as she is also at the ball because Edward wondered if a more feminine touch could persuade Elizabeth to leave. Annabel shook her head, stating that she only knows to read the stars is a rare gift to have. Ciel asks her how she manages to not be swayed like the others, to which Annabel spit "some are under protection of very powerful stars, just like yourself, young Earl". Ciel, frustrated with Annabel's reply, told her if she will not be of service than playing riddles, should leave. Edward got tired of the two fighting, stating how Elizabeth still needs them. To both, they shook hands stiffy, and agreed.

Annabel blanched at seeing the four prefects sing and dance on stage. "What are they wearing?" She croacked, before dabbing at her eyes getting wet from all the bright lights. She stood stiff for the entire performance, and Ciel reluctantly held her hand and dragged out. "Are you sure you're not under a spell?" "Positive." Annabel coughed and covered her mouth with her arm. She covered her face with her hand at seeing the butler with the prostitutes. "Oh, my! Sebastian, you know how to collect women like I do bookmarks!" Sebastian snickered, but was rudely interrupted from replying. Annabel didn't join Edward and Ciel afterwards, as she wished to "freshen up". Ciel glowered, but allowed her leave.

Annabel was a Sirius too, though she was embarassed at being considering under such a rare star. Ciel told her to stop acting so flustered, it's just a star, and if the man giving up those bracelets is is involved, it's not a protective star, at all. Annabel stiffened, and agreed. She went inside with Ciel, but wasn't affected by the fragrance, as she used a small bless to protect her from falling asleep. When Ciel came too, she whispered in Ciel's ear what she discovered, to him blanching. They were interrupted by Gregory, however, handing out the souvineers.

Annabel is forced to accompany Ciel into his car, and Sullivan's house, as she could be useful, and tipped Ciel off to the bloodletting that ocurred. Ciel asks her if she could do anything to tend to his wound, to which Annabel replies no--she's not as well-versed in medicene as he believes her to be, and besides, it's not serious to require that or magic. Ciel crosses his arms, and sighs, calling her a fickle creature. Annabel snorts, stating the sea is fickler. It amuses him, and causes him to smirk.

At Sullivan's house, Annabel responds that "See? It wasn't dangerous as y'all thought" before heading out. She smiles, walking off into the distance, where Ronald waited her. "You shadow me quite a bit, don't you?" Annabel asked, to which Ronald replied "Why wouldn't I? Things are just getting interesting!"

Annabel is last seen after the show of the Phantom Five. She comes back to the stall, asking Ronald if they manged to sell anything. Ronald smirked, holding up thousands of dollars. "Don't you doubt my charms, Annie~"

"Why am I here?" Annabel asks, eying Ciel up and down. Ciel responds "Don't blame games, you know I need you for something...it'd honestly be easier if you just dropped the Soma act." Annabel shook her head vehemlently. "No, I'm more confortable with different faces. Don't ask me again unless you wish to turn into a louse." Ciel sighs, saying "Fine", and drags her away.

Annabel is invited to the celebrations and came early in order to help the servants, to all of their own amusement. Sebastian smirks, asking her if her ancestral country has any traditions of their own, to which Annabel shyly replies they leave food on the tombstones of their dead and make sugarskulls. Finnian asks her if they taste any good, to Annabel replies they do, and she'll make him one if he likes! Finnian cheers, and afterwards get the skull after helping the servants prepare for the festival. Sugar skulls are seen everywhere.

Annabel sighs, still wiping sweat off her forehead as she asks Ronald for a "status report" on all the gemstones and jewelry sold at the Funtom Music Hall, to which Ronald links arms with her and states that with all that money they earned at the debut, they can buy out a whole restaurant for a dinner for two. Annabel blushes, stating her thanks for his help, but no thanks. With Funtom putting out all the stops by placing the shops near the Hall, of course they'd win in a popularity contest.

After the show, and greeting the guests, Annabel was immediately cornered by Ronald with her "Other Form". "So when were you going to tell me your a fan of cross-dressing, Annie?" Ronald grit his teeth, while Annabel-turned-Soma gawked. "H-How did you know it was me?!" She cried, and covered her face with her hands. "Simple," Ronald poked her forehead, before grabbing Soma's hand, "A man in love can ALWAYS pick his babe out of a crowd." "Wait--WAIT! Ronald lets talk about this-" "But nothing, do you know how worried sick I was?!" "What are you, my mom?!"

Annabel looked at the newspaper, sighing. "I should really be going for all that silver, I'd save money on such an inflation!" Annabel crumpled up the newspaper and threw it in the trash, looking at her dark hand. "..." Soma looked up as Mr. Pitt came in.

Annabel was reeling, and after crying for so long, Soma took a deep breath and stated "I won't be a fool in Ciel's game anymore." He turned and rose out of bed, wincing. Sullivan was sweating, confusion and despair written on her face as Soma hobbled out. "What?! Ciel did this to you?!" She clenched her fist. "I don't believe it, after everything Ciel has done for us--after bringing you here to be healed by my witchcraft...I just don't believe it." "Well, believe it." He pushed aside a young Wolfram, who immediately came to and yelled after Soma to come back, only to see he was gone as soon as Wolfram opened the door.

Blue Memory Arc

Annabel soon met Ronald, who simply asked him why she is desperately holding on to something that isn't really hers; he gestured to the vase. "I honestly like your true form than what you look like now, Annabel", he stated. Annabel's hands were shaking, and her mouth formed a wry grin. "Why should I care what you think, reaper?" She hissed. Immediately, Ronald held her and ran off, Annabel holding tightly to the vase. She coughed blood, to which Ronald scolded that leaving the Sullivan kid was a bad idea. "Guess I need to take you to the clinic, huh Annie?"

Ciel Phantomhive

[ Aquaintance ]

Ciel Phantomhive and Annabel Lee are aquainted with eachother, and termed "Brothers in Arms" as both are minors that inherited quite a lot from their families' passing. They simply have that knowledge that they can rely on eachother if things begin to fall apart.

They "officially" met during one of the aristocratic balls before the beginning of the story, and simply gravitated to eachother as both were the only wallflowers in the room. Overtime, they exchanged letters to speak of economics and "private" information that would frighten most people. Sebastian finds it odd how close they seem to be, and so quickly.

Sebastian Michaelis

[ Afraid Of ]

Annabel fears this man's capabilities. She knows he's a demon and she tends to bring out a cross in trying to scare him off. It hardly works, as Sebastian calls it a worthless piece of wood and has only gotten a prick stuck in his thumb.

They understand how boring eternity can be, and as both are helping the Earl in a way to stave off that boredom, are more similar than they think. They try to be friendly for the Earl's sake. Annabel tends to make him poison for him to drink as a sort of "good-work" prize, but he tends to always criticize the taste despite gulping it down in one fell swoop. At least Sebastian gives her treats in return.

Elizabeth Midford

[ Aquaintance ]

Annabel's introduction to Elizabeth ended with Elizabeth recommending Annabel marry her brother so the two can be closer and get to know eachother, which Annabel was put off by. Elizabeth finds Annabel cute and admires her honest lifestyle, while Annabel finds it endearing how much Elizabeth cares for Ciel. She wishes Elizabeth didn't bring up marriage though, as she has rather traumatic memories of her brother forcing her to pick a suitor.

Finnian

[ Prince Charming ]

Annabel is absurdly fond of Finnian, because he was the first boy that was kind to her and expected nothing in return. He gave her a white carnation as a gift, and being a rather hopeless girl, she assumed he gave it knowing what that meant. He doesn't, but Annabel doesn't know that.

She used magic to make it live forever like she does, and never takes it off, even when she's sleeping. Finnian is rather charmed by how posessive Annabel is with his flower, and always gets her more because she likes flowers so much. Thus the perpetual cycle.

Annabel thinks in another life, she and Finnian would have been close, but she never tells him her feelings she has for him.

Mey-Rin

[ Friend ]

Annabel and Mey-Rin bond over men, and guns. As Annabel is the only girl aware of Mey-Rin's other side it was natural they would click. Mey-Rin teaches Annabel alot about various guns, and Annabel in turn tries to give Mey-Rin horseback-riding lessons. It doesn't usually end well, as Mey-Rin's poor eyesight with glasses results in accidents that topple her and the horse.

Mey-Rin urges her and the man in the suit (Ronald) to go on a date, stating that she never saw Annabel so lively unless around that man. She also thinks it's cute how the suited man is so peristant in pursuing Annabel, to Annabal's mortication. "You know this isn't one of our love-novels, right Mey-Rin?"

Baldroy

[ Father-Figure ]

Baldroy finds it "cute" how despite being upper class, Annabel still tries to help him and the other servants around. He usually makes promises to bake Annabel in treat in return for such acts of kindness, but ends up blowing up the kitchen instead.

Annabel latched onto him simply because he was the most fatherly acting man on the estate. Wanting security, she tends to pay him more heed than he deserves. At least that's what Sebastian says.

Tanaka

[ Uncle-Figure ]

Annabel adores Tanaka, and tends to give him diamond balls he could sell or play with, like marbles. Tanaka seems to feel the same, inviting her to play said marbles or other tabletop games. He seems to show some knowledge of Annabel's true nature, but he doesn't seem to mind. He likes the shenanigans everyone does because it makes the house and the Earl less alone.

Snake

[ Friend ]

Annabel was surprised that a Naga was in their midst, but her exclamation only made Snake confused. Still, her found her tolerable as she asked him nicely about his snakes.

Snake is one of the few that knows of Annabel's true nature, as her scent is obvious no matter her form. He'd rather keep that information to himself, though.

Grelle Sutcliffe

[ Accomplice ]

She heard about Grelle from Ronald on their "date", but saw him during the Luxury Liner Arc. Annabel doesn't like how persistently Grelle chases Sebastian, and thinks the reaper was a poor mentor to Ronald considering he chased her down like Grelle chases the butler.

They haven't officially been introduced, but Grelle thinks it's "cute" how Ronald is "in love" with a "mortal woman", and tries to give Ronald tips on how to be more attractive to Annabel.

William T. Spears

[ Afraid Of ]

She's afraid of this man because she knows he isn't soft like Grelle or lovestruck like Ronald. He'd cut her in a heartbeat for being a witch. They haven't officially met either but Ronald doesn't paint the man a flattering picture. His stoic attitude reminds her a bit of Sebastian, and that doesn't help.

William doesn't know Annabel exists, but what he does know is that Ronald is shirking off his duties more than usual, and won't stand for it. Things come to a head when he's been missing work for days...

Ronald Knox

[ Accomplice ]

It was a case of "love at first sight" for Ronald, but Annabel thinks it was more "lust at first sight". Annabel met Ronald thinking he had something to do with the Bizarre Dolls, but that turned out to be false, and she almost paid for it with her life.

Ronald thought her "odd" when he met her as Sophie Smith, as his book kept on being rewritten and the name written over another one he couldn't make out. He made a bet to see if she was "worthy" enough for him and she passed. His delight skyrocketed when he saw her "true form"; he has a thing for readheads.

Annabel hates him for his stupid game and for being so careless with people's lives. So she doesn't want to date him. Ronald has been chasing her to make her complete her debt ever since. Annabel is honestly scared of his persistence.

Samuel Lee

[ Father ]

Samuel tried really hard to compensate for his "Latin" blood by choosing the most English sounding name for himself, and ended up losing his final ties to his culture as a result. He meant well in trying to assimilate to the American culture, but he was still considered "dirty" by the American people he was trying to appease.

Annabel never saw this as a problem until she heard her fellow Latins saw her family as traitorous for adapting, and Samuel still trying to appease these people. She felt her father a weak man for being such a carefree, people-pleaser, but at least a clever, protective one that ensured the family's survival.

Samuel and Annabel never see eachother again after he sent her and Johnathan over to Great Britain. She misses him terribly.

Vanessa Lee

[ Mother ]

Like her husband, Vanessa took on a more English sounding name to appease the Americans. She had a better time dealing with the people, but not by much.

Vanessa was more proactive than most women in town in trying to break gender norms, though her husband found it rather tasteless. Hasn't he been trying so hard to get people about talking about his "dirty" family? Though Samuel never went publicly or even privately against his wife, he was resentful, and it showed.

Annabel never sees Vanessa again after Annabel and Johnathan are sent over to Great Britain.

Johnathan Lee

[ Older Brother ]

Johnathan was at least seven years older than Annabel, and he very much acted like it. He liked to boss her around, and Annabel being raised to be submissive, took it in stride. He wasn't malicious, but the sexism was obvious. Their relationship only worsened when Annabel and he were sent abroad, as he was now the sole cartetaker of young Annabel.

He pressured Annabel to marry somebody, but in the end, Annabel got her way. He died before she caved in to his demands.
