While Bryne's origins are lost to history, it is known that she was just another individual suffering under Queen Yverre's tyranical reign. When Yverre became blighted, she gathered up her friends and recruited lord, peasant, monk, and mage alike under her banner to stop the Mother of Blight before she doomed them all. In searching for ways to combat the blight, it was discovered that the oracle crystal in one of the lords' possession actually repelled the twisted magic. Determined to use that to their advantage, they scoured the land in order to gather every single last one before bringing the battle to Yverre. During the Battle of Castle Prism, her allies engaged Yverre's blighted monstrosities while she, her friends, and those who would later be known as The Architects confronted her directly. Even with the oracle crystals' innate rejection of the blight, the twisted monstrosity that Yverre had become couldn't be killed, and so the group sealed her within a giant oracle crystal made from several of theirs grown and fused together with magic.

Once Yverre was gone, the people crowned Bryne as their new queen (and history has happily recorded her horrified reaction for all eternity), and the mission to purge the blight from their world began. The oracle crystals were distributed across all corners of the kingdom, and in order to prevent their only safeguards from coming to harm, The Architects raised the Labyrinths in order to protect them. And while it cost them their lives, the Labyrinths have ensured the survival of their beloved kingdom for generations upon generations to come.

• Queen Bryne's name is actually pronounced as Brine, not Brin.
• Bryne was actually a shepard by birth and trade, though this fact has long since been lost to time.
• The modern royal palace was actually built after Queen Bryne's death. She refused to live in a castle for as long as she lived, and instead lived in a manor in Sapphire City. That same manor was later remodeled and expanded upon by the best ruby engineers to become the royal palace we know today.
• Ironically, it was the plants that only grow in the presence of oracle crystals that formed the main reagent in her downfall, not the oracle crystals themselves.
