Born to the two senior warriors Hailfur, and Sapsong, he was their only kit and basically their last chance of kits, they weren’t exactly in love but instead together for necessity of passing down their line. Not overly affectionate to the growing Splitkit, he was raised with a stern hand, and high expectations, often expecting him to not play with other kits. He was made into an outcast at an early age and looked at other kits with jealousy.

Splitpaw was given to a younger warrior, making both his parents kind of annoyed, they wanted the best for him, and often fought his mentor on what training he should be doing, even going as far as to take him out to train themselves, though by the end of his apprenticeship they had retired.

Splitpelt's parents died not far into his warriorhood, and while able to see him become a warrior they weren’t exactly proud of him, never actually complimenting him or his skills, he lived by what he thinks they would want of him, serving his clan to make it as strong as possible.

A badger began to terrorize windclan and a large patrol including Splitpelt were sent to drive it out. They succeeded but Splitpelt was gravely injured, many believed he'd die in the first few days though he managed to pull through.
