Asce has a very similar occupation to Irisha in that he travels to far-off places to help those who have no one around to guide them to the afterlife. His travels are nearly entirely confined to land, however. He has a deep, terrible fear of bodies of water which prevents him from getting to some places.
Asce grew up with and has a deep bond with Irisha. They worked in the same temple when they were young, and began their adventures and travels together as well. At one point, they ended up going their separate ways, but still keep in contact.
Asce has the ability to astral project, but can only focus on other Vespiri whom he has given certain objects. One of these enivi is Irisha, whom he gave one of his most prized posessions: his bracelet. Irisha is aware of this ability of his, but wasn't at the time. She wears it at all times now, so that he may contact her. He appreciates it.
Another core aspect of Asce's character is his desire to look nice. He, despite living in modesty and often not particularly hospitable conditions, makes an effort each day to look nice and often particularly cared-for. It is not often easy to tell if he has spent the night in the woods during a storm or if he spent the night in a fancy home and a luxurious bath. He has a good knowledge of what can be used for various self-care needs, and is happy to offer advice if you ask.
In general, he is a very kind individual. He can be quite shy, but would never back down if confronted with a particularly difficult situation. He can be quite resourceful in new situations, as well, and is a great problem solver.
Recently, Asce has begun attracting animals on his adventures - this is deeply confusing, but he's doing his best to accept it!
