Profile

From a very young age Cecil had his mind open to visions of the future. Most people in the Trezdil family were taught magic from a very young age, but unlike most of the others he was a natural. The second he got his first vision he was more or less able to teach himself magic. Peering into the future for information his future self has, never having to *really* learn it for himself.

Being a powerful mage and a technical royal blood it was only natural for Cecil to be brought on as Trezdil's head mage. So, when the The Battle of the Arcane began he was quick to jump head first into things. He had seen the battle before, every iteration of it. He knew how things were going to play out and, most importantly, he saw the bigger picture of it all. While on the side of Order, Cecil was never aligned with their ranks. He was simply on their side to guide the orderly and have them set things up for what his future self wanted.

You see, from a *very* young age Cecil had ulterior motives. His visions made him somewhat compulsive. *everything* had to be perfectly in place to set up the best possible future. His visions were intrusive, and unlike typical anxiety where all the things that could go wrong were merely figurative, his anxiety was brought on by horrid visions of the future that weer very much real. He wanted to rid himself of these visions, and his foresight had given him the means to do so.

Nearly 500 years in the future, well after this war had settled and the common folk believed it to be over, there would be a massive dragon turtle. This turtle being made by one of the artificers of the war. This artificer, well after the war was over, would have access to the Weave. Direct access to it. How he gained access was fuzzy, as the weave did its best to protect itself from his visions, but he knew after this turtle plunged itself into the sea this artificer would be sent into a fury trying to resurrect it. In doing so his guard on the weave would be dropped, and if he played his cards right Cecil would be able to nab it for himself. Once that happened he'd be able to free himself from his curse once and for all.

Of course, there were many preparations that needed to be made. His visions included bouts of chaos he couldn't even begin to figure out, but events that needed to happen to ensure his victory. This person was one of the artificers from the side of Free Will. A dragon born named Arven. A dear friend of hers would die, and after that she'd not only be inclined to betray her faction, but she'd be more than willing to help him with a bit of manipulation. When the time was right the two met, he explained his plight by offering a permanent end to the war via access to the weave, and the two teamed up.

But then there was another problem. 500 years was a long time. Both would be long dead when the events eventually did play out, so Cecil with Arven's help made vessles which would keep them suspended in stasis until the critical moment in the timeline.

But there was an issue. Cecil was awoken too early. Awoken by a small, little frog which he had not once seen in his visions. He was awake *far* too early. Early to the point he still wouldn't be alive long enough to gain access to the weave. So he had to take a page out of Arven's book and improvise. Using his foresight to manipulate this frog he set up a spell to drain the life forces of the people of the town he'd found himself in. That way their time left would become his, and he'd be able to survive until the critical moment.

Of course, things weren't as simple as they seemed. After re-grouping with Arven he found the future had changed considerably since his awakening. Things had changed. The critical moment changed. And his access to the weave had shifted to be much sooner than he would have thought. It still involved the death of the dragon turtle, but in a much different way. So he was left to re-structure his plans. Hopefully he'd be able to do so in time
