Profile

An artificer born and raised in Northstar Watch. As a child she had a small dragon wyrmling which she more or less hand raised herself. The two grew up together, and by the time she was in her teens her and her dragon were flying all around Denevere. That is, until the war broke out. The Battle of the Arcane, a war between against freedom. Order and chaos clashing against one another. Being drawn towards freedom and being used to her life of free travel Arven opted to join the ranks of the Free Will. Very quickly she rose through the ranks, using her dragon's might to her advantage. But things went south. The mages against them managed to shoot her and her dragon down; killing the dragon and badly wounding her in the process. From there she retreated, getting help from the Free Will's artificers to rebuild her lost arm. During this time she took interest in the practice and largely used building and tinkering as a means to distract herself from the painful loss of her beloved friend.

As the war raged on Arven became less and less interested in the matter. She could only focus on one thing; that being her grief. As much as the Free Will hated the opposing mages she desperately wanted a way to revive her fallen friend. So, she defected. Leaving the Free Will and seeking the aid of the opposing mages to potentially find a way to revive her friend. This is when she met a man named Cecile.

Cecile was an odd fellow. Calm, methodical, straightforward. Not the kind of person she expected to wage war against the common folk. Then again, he was on the side of order. It made sense to her an orderly man such as he would be up in their ranks. It was Cecile who approached her, claiming his magic had granted him a vision of the future and that she was a part of it. While he couldn't help her then, he mentioned the war raging on would continue on almost indefinitely unless a third party came in to stop it. This war was chaos, but he'd seen an upcoming event which would allow him to attain direct access to the Weave and allow him to essentially become a god. With that newfound power this war would be put to an end once and for all, or so he claimed.

Arven did not believe his claims. Not the latter half, anyway. No one seeking power over the Weave was doing so just to end a single war. She knew there was more to his plans, but the promise of reviving her fallen friend were too great to pass up. She accepted, and the two then left the war behind entirely in preparation for this future event.

Because this event which gave access to the Weave was well past both of their lifespans Cecile and Arven worked together to artificially extend them. With her knowledge of engineering and his of magic the two created vessels which would keep their bodies suspended in a dormant state of animation until the correct time came. With their pact made and their terms set the two went to sleep for many, many years...

But something went wrong. Someone, somewhere, unlocked one of their vessels, in turn causing the other to open. Someone had opened Cecile's. With how much time had passed it was no surprise they'd been separated from one another, so the first thing she did was find Cecile. From there they re-grouped and began looking into a way to remedy the situation.

That's when the pair learned about a man named Darmond. This man was someone Arven knew all too well. She'd worked with him closely in the war. Hell, he was the one to repair her arm! As it turned out, these two weren't the only living relics from their time. He was still alive and well. Not only that, but apparently during the tail end of the war he had done something to the Weave itself that had altered it. This could cripple the pair's plans, as the Weave was not altered in Cecile's vision. So, the two began hunting this man down in an attempt to gather more information.

Finding him was difficult, but Arven knew the Free Will spend a considerable amount of time in Northstar Watch during the war, so they both headed off there to investigate. There they found something crippling to Darmond's attempt to remain hidden. A Dragon Turtle. Or, an egg, rather. Darmond had created one of these beasts in the past. it was one of his many shining achievements, and he'd talked about it often. Arven knew he had made this egg, so using it as a focus the two tracked him down with a tracking spell.

That's when the pair found his workshop. Deep in the jungle, broken and battered and in ruins, but still very much up and running. There they sought answers, but they only found a single Warforged who'd been worn by time. A warforged, and a party of adventurers...
