Clothing Style

Portia tends to dress simply for an active lifestyle. She prefers shorts over skirts or pants, and she only wears skirts and dresses for dance-involved events. She definitely loves summer the most and is most happy when she can dress for warm weather. Her common outfits consist of layered tank tops and shorts with converse shoes. She'll usually wear some simple bracelets, and she almost always wears a heart necklace that matches one she gave to Hal. She doesn't have much preference for specific clothing colors, but she likes outfits that are bold or have eye catching features without being too complicated. She'll also dress appropriately for ballet during practices or recitals, so you can usually tell when she has one coming up soon or just arrived after one if she's wearing her leotard and tights with an oversized hoodie.

Personality

Portia is a loud, outgoing, and flirty young lady whose passions lie in dance, theater, and vocal work.  She comes off as very social and cheery, but she can also be a bit too boisterous with her confidence. Normally she is pretty friendly and easy to approach, but she can also get catty and sharp tongued if you get on her nerves or waste her time. She is very impatient and dislikes slow paced or monotonous work, and she tends to jump to conclusions more often than taking the time to completely think through things. She follows her instincts and can be rather impulsive, and she never takes crap from anyone. Despite her somewhat rough personality at times, she is very loyal and protective of her friends and can be pretty fierce about standing up for them.

Most people know Portia to be very loud and irreverent in most cases. She doesn't really care much for acting prim or proper, and she's always the type to speak her mind and share her opinions even when not asked. She can be rather forward with her flirting and can get pretty over the top with it, and she doesn't really tone it down even for people she's only teasingly flirting with (including some of her attractive teachers). She also never seems to feel much shame for anything she does and is very unabashed with how she approaches life. This also means she's very stubborn about admitting her mistakes, but she is capable of doing so, although she's more likely to do so with people she's more personally invested in.

Portia obviously loves all sorts of arts, especially music, dance, and theater. It's clear she takes her passions in these fields very seriously, for she tends to be more calm and collected while tackling them, notably with her serious dancing. Portia takes her ballet dancing very seriously, but she'll be more casual with other forms of dance when she's not practicing routines or performing. Portia also loves using her Reverb rifting to manipulate sounds all around her, particularly with controlling her own voice in various ways. She's known for using it to basically be a on-the-fly ventriloquist with Erin, and a lot of people aren't even aware Erin is mute since Portia voices for her so frequently when they are together.

Backstory

Portia grew up taking dance classes from an early age, specifically ballet. She grew to be highly skilled in it along with singing and playing music. Always one of the most attractive and outgoing girls in her classes, she grew used to receiving a lot of attention and teasing boys that would fawn over her. Before entering middle school, Portia realized she was rather good at changing her voice and manipulating where the sound came from. She sometimes played around with minor ventriloquism (without a puppet), and she was eventually accepted into the Hateulots private school system for her apparent skills in Reverb rifting.

While in her sophomore year, Portia tried out a ballroom dancing course. She excelled quickly, but a change in class roster during a new quarter left her with a new and completely inexperienced partner, Hal Hoffman. Portia was initially very frustrated with her new partner since he learned very slowly and would quickly forget steps she would teach him. However, Portia softened up on him a lot once he told her he suffered from short term memory loss after a near fatal head injury that left him in a coma a few years earlier. Portia was much more patient with Hal after getting to know him better, especially after the two realized they both were Hateulots students. She also ended up providing him much needed emotional support while his family was going through a rough time following a divorce. After adjusting her teaching to him to accommodate his memory issues, she was happy to see he learned very well from her and eventually was on par with her ballroom dancing skills.

The two became a couple after their dance course ended, and Portia keeps up with him at Hateulots in numerous classes, including band and drama classes, along with joining in the school's theater productions. Portia is very affectionate with her boyfriend while also being rather protective of him.
