Fangkit was born in an area far from the valley, an only child with loner parents. Harewish and Crocustooth were very loving parents for the time that Fangkit knew them. Not being in any clan, the trio traveled often, teaching Fangkit about what to stay away from, and what counted as good food, and soon, they would teach him how to hunt mice! After a few days of traveling, a terrible storm hit, Fang had never seen anything like it, and his parents couldn’t find a suitable place to stay for the night- a mudslide hit, and Harewish was able to get his kit onto a high enough branch before the mud hit, sweeping his father away before his eyes. His mother noticed the branch was breaking, and pushed Fang further back towards the trees base, before the branch snapped, and his mother was washed away as well. Fangkit fell asleep in the tree after a bit, curled up with dead leaves and soaking wet. When he woke up, there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. The storm had passed, and Fangkit jumped down to look for his parents, but he couldn’t find them no matter what. He dug and he tried to smell for them, but it was like the earth had sucked them in and taken them from him in an instant. He traveled for a while, he was tired, starving, he was slowly learning to take care of himself, but it was hard without his parents. Soon enough, warrior Batstep found him hidden underneath a bush of Salmon Berries, and took him in. When he awoke, he was in the nursing den, being cared for by the queens. He felt safe for the first time in so long.
