Nacht wasn't bitter about being sold off, it was fine, they understood. The farm needed money, they were of some value given their tri-hybrid nature. They went off without complaint, anxiously awaiting their new living situation.

They saw Karen around during the auction, never suspected they would wind up in a car with her. She was patient and kind, and she didn't mind their accent. They spoke briefly of their families, how they came to be here, what the future might hold. They felt better about where they were going, if she was going to be there with them.

Karen is amazing. Nacht is in constant awe of her - beautiful, ambitious, headstrong - she quickly rose up the ranks to head maid, while Nacht was content to remain a humble butler, focusing their efforts on doing their job as well as possible. Every year they quietly celebrated the anniversary of the day they met - they didn't always have the best grasp on time, given the nature of their work, but they made sure to always anticipate that day.

The night their master died was a nightmare - sometimes Nacht wakes up in a cold sweat at the memory of it. Lord knows if it wasn't for Karen grabbing them, they might've been rotting in a jail cell, or worse-

The Academy is strange, unfamiliar, stressful, their workload is huge, and taxing in a new way they're unused to - sometimes they feel so overwhelmed -

But it's the same as the mansion, in a way. They still have Karen, they'll be okay.
