A cryptid creature living within the Pine Barrens of New Jersey, they prefer to hide within their confides and collect things humans dispose. They are unaware (at first) of their other form and don't transform unless they're under high stress; their eyebags start to drop melty black tears that loosens the cells it contacts with and, thus, transforms them back into Leeds. They are bound to the Pilot through the Soul Ring.

Tanka's form is determined by what Leeds has before condensing their cells. Both are referred to as the Jersey Devil in text.
