Tempest is optimistic, but in the most cautious of ways. They're hopeful, and want to believe that good things will happen if you give them a chance.
But... they're also the intense type, and take things quite seriously. They have a hard time relaxing, or letting things go. It's not that they don't know how to have fun, but they feel theres a time and place for it. Tries their best to appear dignified. Even thinks of themself as noble... but is also afraid of being labelled a coward.
They refuse to retreat from anything. Whether an awkward situation, or actual battle, they hate to just turn tails and walk away from things. They feel ashamed if they're forced to, it's not an easy thing for Tempest to do nowadays.

Tempest had recently joined a military brigade, being recruited to another planet entirely, known as Pulturnoc.
♦ SPICY
Before landing on Pulturnoc, Tempest was immediately set up with proper training, and had three microchips sealed into the back of their neck to let them breathe in the atmosphere and regulate their temperature. Once landed, they understood why. The cymerians were assaulted with just how hot and humid the planet was. It was going to be a rough adjustment from their naturally cool home planet, Aucelemarinus.
♦ Oops
Told to be aware at all times, and to leave the base as little as possible, many of the cymerians were on high alert- this included Tempest. After several months of preparations, they were assigned their first actual combat mission. This did not go particularly well. Tempest was paired up with another cymerian, Hades, and while the two were bickering- they were ambushed. Hades was dragged away and Tempest followed them as fast as they could. Thankfully, they did save Hades, but in the mess they were chased even farther away, and were seperated from their crew...
Now Hades and Tempest have to find their way back to the base. They gotta WORK TOGETHER! GOOD LUCK YOU TWO!!
Tempest had a fairly decent childhood, up until they reached twelve years old. That's when the Essepherus Pandemic hit their home planet, Aucelemarinus. The virus-like parasite deeply infected their sibling, Mune, who went into a frenzy from the pain. Their parents tried to help Mune, but they were in such a frantic state of mind that they attacked and killed their parents... Tempest has held that against them to this day.
♦ Burden
Eventually their grandparent, Morsh, took them in. While the horrid pain from the beginning of the outbreak had calmed, and Mune was lucid again, it was still... more than they could bear. They started to plead with Tempest to put them out of their misery, which Tempest declined every time. Mune had started to become a burden in Tempest's life, and even when the two moved on from their grandparent's home, Mune never stopped begging for death. Tempest started to avoid their own home because of this. Eventually, Tempest had decided they have had enough, and abandoned Mune in their home. They feel guilty about it every day... but they never did go back.
♦ Pulturnoc wants YOU
One day, Tempest discovered that there were aliens from another planet on their homeworld, known as azura. These azura were recruiting cymerians to come to their home planet, Pulturnoc, to help fight against a neighboring species that was slowly- but surely, killing them all. Tempest, already having extensive combat training thanks to their grandparent and their close friend, and seeking a higher purpose in life, joined the military crew.
Open extra box. My thought was to use to describe where they live - both the location & their actual home (a house, an apartment, out in the wildnerness). Or like... use for something else if you want.

Velette ♦ Best Friend
Childhood best friends. Tempest looks up to Velette, even as a mentor at times (they taught them how to properly fight). Vel and Tem learned a lot from each other, and have a good amount of inside jokes with each other.
Mel ♦ Friend
It took a bit of coaxing on Mel's end to get Tempest to trust them... but Tem has grown quite fond of the rainbow-loving behemoth. They think Mel is very sweet.
Hades ♦ Begrudging Friends
Tempest and Hades got off on the wrong foot and fast, resulting in their subsequent 'missing' status. However, as the adventure goes on, the two learn more about one another... and start to enjoy the other's company.
Kona ♦ Friend
Tempest and Kona get along fairly well. They appreciate her desire to help, and admire her scientific prowess.
Capella ♦ Parent
Capella was Tempest's 'dad', essentially, and Tempest only has fond memories of them. They were very soft-spoken and kind.
Hime ♦ Parent
Hime was Tempest's 'mom', and where they got most of their looks from. A very rowdy cymerian that always played with Tem and Mune.
Mune ♦ Sibling
Mune is Tempest's sibling, younger by two days via hatching late. The two rarely saw eye-to-eye, and Tempest eventually grew to see Mune as a burden... still, they feel so much guilt for abandoning them. They think about them often.
La-Morshenya ♦ Grandparent
Morsh is Tempest's grandparent on Hime's side, and was quick to take them in when they heard about Tem and Mune's parents dying... They're a very active cymerian despite their age, and when Tempest moved out, they insisted that Mune was brought with them. Tempest hasn't spoken to them since leaving Mune.
Zexel ♦ Annoyance
Zexel has a HUGE crush on Tempest, and pestered them about it constantly. Tempest finds Zexel's strives for affections to be flattering, but... annoying. They consider them to be an obtrusive suitor, and would prefer Zexel to leave them alone, or at least tone down the affection.
