Onigiri

Onigiri can often be found with his nose in a book, dreaming big dreams and making grand plans. That's part of the reason he went and started his own team! Books are great and all, but they're a poor substitute for the real thing! He has to be careful though - sometimes his ambition leads to recklessness. Onigiri has been known to get into tons of trouble this way. Fortunately, the young Pokemon has loads of natural charisma, and it has served him well over the years. He's often able to smile and chat his way out of sticky situations. When that fails, though, he's not above shedding the crocodile tears that his species is famous for. He's just a kid, after all!

Unlike the vast majority of Sobbles in the world, Onigiri was NOT hatched in a lab. No, he was never destined to become some young trainer's first Pokemon! This is because his father had already gone and done that. That is to say, Onigiri's father WAS hatched in a lab, and, after reaching the requisite level, was chosen by an ambitious young boy who fancied himself a candidate for regional league champ. Yet it was not to be - not everyone can be Ash Ketchum!

After many long years of trying and failing, the boy gave up. Instead, he settled down in a town he'd first passed through casually then come to love, taking up a trade and, in time, starting a family. Though he never abandoned his Pokemon. Instead he kept them with him in his new life, and allowed them to grow alongside him. Some even went on to become unconventional starter Pokemon for the boy's children when they set out on journeys of their own! Onigiri's father, on the other hand, had a different fate awaiting him. He eventually found a love of his own, and it wasn't long before he was spending more and more of his free time out in in the woods to be with his Kecleon Juliet. While the boy naturally missed the closeness he'd once had with his first Pokemon and oldest friend, he also saw how happy he was, and decided to release the Inteleon from any obligations he may feel bound by. Thus, with his former trainer's encouragement, the pair moved further out of the human town so they could be on their own.

Onigiri is the third of five children - two Sobbles and three Kecleons - and grew up more or less as a wild Pokemon. He wandered the woods, he swam the streams, he ran through the fields. Occasional visits by his father's old trainer gave him a fairly positive outlook on humanity, though, and he wasn't the least bit shy around people. In fact, he and his siblings made frequent forays into town (against the wishes of their parents) in order to scrounge up food and other interesting objects.
