Fairy type-swap Snorlax!
Hailing from a distant island called Cherish, where all Pokemon boast Valentine hues, Paddington is considerably more active than your typical Snorlax. Sure, he still sleeps a lot - and he can sleep through anything (ANYTHING!!) - but when you get right down to it fourteen hours is nothing compared to the 23 or more that most others of his species spend sawing logs! And Paddington uses all these extra waking hours to good effect. You see, he's a very clever Pokemon who's easily bored if his routine gets too samey - that's why he left Cherish Island in the first place! Nothing interesting ever happened there. Waves go in, waves go out, waves go in, coconuts fall, waves go out... it may be fine for some, but the little pink 'mon was itching for a change! He took the first out presented to him. He's always been an impulsive individual you see, making decisions with his heart rather than his head. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't, but he's always been happy to take a risk as long as it FEELS right deep down in his prodigious gut. He'd rather take a chance and live with the consequences than play it safe and end up losing out! Besides, even that which at first appears to be a loss can, in fact, be a victory in disguise! For example: Paddington quickly discovered that life on a Rescue Team was not for him - he may keep odd hours but he IS still a Snorlax and too much physical activity makes him miserable. But signing on with Team W.I.P. had gotten him off Cherish Island, which is all he'd really wanted in the first place, and landed him in Firth where he'd found his true calling as the owner/manager of the town's only real hotel. Paddington loves his job and fully believes that all the little ins and outs of the business keep his mind fully occupied - offering him enough variation and challenge to keep him interested without overwhelming him with incidentals. Paddington has a real head for business, it turns out; especially the customer interaction side of things. He loves talking to visitors and his warm, cheerful, easygoing manner usually ends up turning strangers into friends in no time flat!
