"The creature did a Superhero Landing in the lobby! From just where, no one could tell. But its coat flopped to the floor with a decisive THUD and then their form stood up like it was... floating!" The reporter excitedly described the scene of the event, or at least as much as she was allowed to, before being asked to leave as she didn't have an invite and the press was no excuse. She left muttering about how her dad would hear about this, but no one knew who that was. No one knew who this new 'Superhero' was, either! They were tall, and wore a floor length longcoat, a bit ragged. There was a hat covering the stranger's face, though it seemed a little too big? A broad toothy smile could be seen below the brim of the hat though, so obviously they were a friend. Plus, with an entrance like that who could say they were a villain? No villain did that landing! There were a small number of people dressed in formalwear with a tall feather on their equally tall hats - probably in order to be seen as 'official'. They proceeded to take information and make sure that those who were present for the hatching were all in order. Otherwise there were plenty of people wearing costumes. People, not 'people'. They handed one to the 'Superhero', who grasped at it with its left hand while its right seemed to flutter the attendant away. The two white firelizards on the figure's shoulders seemed quite proud, standing tall but gripping the longcoat pretty strongly... flapping a little. Somehow, the new arrival managed to scribble something on the paperwork and give it back to the attendants. It was completely illegible and seemed to have tiny puncture marks in the paper when they looked closer. That attendant leaned in to their nearby companion, they conferred, and decided that 'if they had flitters to care for, they would be able to handle a dragon' so... One of them recalled that excited lady who was peeking into the room from earlier, and carefully scribed 'Secret Identity' to be more clear about which attendee this was. Then they they put the papers with the rest, and got on with their duties. That left this Identity to wander the floor and interact with the rest of the party folk. They seemed to scan the room slowly, their rictus grin startling a few, unnerving most. Identity swayed easily around to the long banquet tables, and seemed to dip and wobble a little. Maybe they were quite hungry, both their hands waggled rapidly at the sandwiches and tiny meatballs. Then it stood in the corner, apparently eating. Whatever would happen next? Those white flitters seemed to look a little tired but they just kept standing tall and flapping as the evening wore on. | |
Name: Chitterss Gender: Warrior (nb) Size/Shoulder/Length: pet (about 3' long total) Colors: shiny red-white tinted brown Features: Xeno flit, eyeless but can sense movement very well, sense of smell is extremely keen Powers: Hive mind - connected to the flitters by this virtue, and while it can still be controlled by stronger willed creatures it is the 'brains' of this operation Acid Blood - don't bite it, it will caustically hurt... Resin Secretion - makes nests and coccoons for prey Stealth - is incredibly good at finding hiding places and sneaking around in the shadows Sticky Feets - able to adhere to nearly any surface, even upside down or slick metals Nexus Travel - somehow got around, gathered these flitters, and discovered this clutch Origin: Winter Gather 2020 by Shadhahvar Other Info: Because it 'isn't a flit' in the conventional sense, it chose to be the 'head' of the Identity. Name: Gripper Gender: Male Size/Shoulder/Length: pet (not to scale, about 15" nose to tail) Colors: diamond, white and crystal Features: standard flitter Powers: Winged Flight - durable and sturdy in the air, and with those big paws can hold objects easily Teleportation - able to instinctively move between or wherever, and travels from 2 feet to 2 miles easily Telekinetics - as a team only, this ability allows him to keep a hold on the shoulder of the costume and lift his portion of the Identity Fire Breath - able to make a tiny little flame that seems more like a spark than a fire Origin: Lantessama Other Info: as a flitter it's pretty easy to pretend you're a shoulder pet while moving the Identity around | |
Name: Pickmee Gender: Female Size/Shoulder/Length: pet (2 feet long total) Colors: Shimmer white Features: standard flitter Powers: Winged Flight - remarkably stable in winds, and attains a good speed quickly Teleportation - enjoys being guided to places by confident minds, and can actually take a similarly sized flitter with up to 3 miles away Telekinetics - only as a team, this ability allows her to help boost the Identity and hold it up Fire Breath - she wouldn't bother, that's so messy and leaves ash everywhere Origin: Isla Weyr Other Info: as the other shoulder-dragon, her responsibility is to make sure that they're going the right direction | |
Name: Hush Gender: Female Size/Shoulder/Length: pet (not to scale, 18" long) Colors: pumpkin orange Features: standard flitter Powers: Winged Flight - though able to keep up with a speedy flight for a short time, she doesn't have a lot of durability, and prefers the brief fluttering of her 'hand' position, she's excellent with short range motion Teleportation - isn't very quick on the draw for movement, but if she knows where they're going she adds quite a bit of power to a group effort Telekinetics - the only one on the team who can use this ability without the rest, and is the one in charge of fine 'motor skills' such as arm and hand emulation Fire Breath - sports a terrific short-range gout of very hot fire, enough to melt through thin metals, but only about her own length worth Origin: Meridian Other Info: Is Chitterss' second in command, as her mind is clear and her abilities strong | |
Name: Handy Gender: Male Size/Shoulder/Length: pet (not to scale, small for a brown at 14" long) Colors: leathery brown Features: standard flitter Powers: Winged Flight - ideal for the 'hand' as he is precise with short ranged flights and quick winged motion, but not very good with long distance flying or in bad conditions Teleportation - possibly among the strongest of the group for moving both short (under 1 meter) and long (up to 10 miles) teleports Telekinetics - only able to do this with the group, he likes the 'tingly' feeling that he gets when he uses it to 'wave' or 'shake hands' Fire Breath - with a strong flame that he can use to 'light cigarettes' or create fancy swirling lights, he can also use this as an attack but likes the fun stuff more Origin: Isla Weyr Other Info: the left 'hand', apparently the Identity is left handed because wow is he active | |
Name: Drag Gender: Male Size/Shoulder/Length: pet (not to scale, around 14" long) Colors: dusky black Features: standard flitter Powers: Winged Flight - slow and steady wins the race, which is why he's the left foot, can keep going in very bad conditions or while dragging a lot of weight Teleportation - requires guidance, but can add his power to carry the Identity's ... clothing, and can teleport up to 2 miles Telekinesis - used only with the team, he boosts the group's weight capacity significantly but doesn't really do much other than shuffle his feet Fire Breath - capable of producing a short and bright fan of flames, about his own body length Origin: Meridian Other Info: 'we should be shoes because humans like shoes' he said, and he wasn't wrong | |
Name: Underfoot Gender: Female Size/Shoulder/Length: pet (not to scale, around 18" long) Colors: obsidian black with shiny wings Features: standard flitter Powers: Winged Flight - graceful and delicate but with a reasonable amount of strength, she leads 'dances'... Teleportation - though good with short and quick ports, she doesn't do well with longer distances than around 1 mile at most, so she relies on others for that Telekinesis - along with the group only, she contributes a decent amount of power to lift and manipulate, holding up her part of the 'costume' easily Fire Breath - can make a short, somewhat weak flame that's warm enough to give the Identity 'body heat' that doesn't harm anyone nearby Origin: Lantessama Other Info: as the 'right foot', loves dancing | |
