Personality

A skilled fighter with a punk style - often described as an incredibly rude, blunt asshole.

He's not one to reveal unnecessary details about himself, even to those who know him. He's impulsive and unafraid to get into dangerous situations, while also having a tendency to bite off more than he can chew. He keeps to himself and frantically avoids relying on others until things blow up, much to the dismay of those who have managed to get close. Those who dare look beyond the scowl find a goofy but loveable bastard who makes terrible jokes with a shit-eating grin. When not chasing adrenaline highs, he indulges in a bit of art - whether that is creating posters and illegal street art, or paintings to keep for himself.

Appearance

At about 170 cm, Souta stands tall among the rest of his group. His body is quite lanky, but muscular. Small scars are littered around his jaw and knuckles - remains of knives and punches from the past. When it comes to clothing, Souta prides himself in his punk look - always covered in patches, studs and jewelry, most of which are hand-me-downs. The sides of his hair are shaved while the rest remains in a fluffy mullet.

Design notes

His hair is black, but I use a blue tone for it.

His more recent designs feature an inverted cross earring, but you can do the anchor if you prefer.

You may fill his patches in with doodles, texts or bands that make sense. They are just colours for simplicity.

His hair is essentially a deathhawk.

If shirtless, you can draw him with a binder or a flat chest.

Relationships

Nathan

The one Souta is most frequently paired with. They've been inseparable since they met in school, as the two outcasts of the class. They protected each other, Nathan being the target of bullies and Souta being too rowdy for his own good. They both changed as they grew up, but never left eachother's side. Nathan knew he was in love years ago, while Souta found it more sudden. One day he was simply making out with his best friend, funnily enough. Their current relationship is sweet and built on trust and a deep understanding of each other.

Ches

Ches forced themselves into Souta's life and is an absolute menace, but simultaneously one of his favourite people. They're way too extroverted and childish for him, and they think Souta's grumpy personality is funny, but both care deeply for each other and would never let the other get hurt. They see each other almost like siblings.

Esteri

Exes from high school. Awkward.

Aiko

Souta's older sister, whom he was separated from early in his life due to the divorce of their parents. When they did interact, a rivalry was present, both wanting to be better than the other. They lost touch over the years and focus on their own lives nowadays - but if either of them are in a pinch, they know they can reach out.

Backstory

Souta has always been an unruly guy. He was never really liked by anyone, and failed almost every criteria that authorities set for him. He was almost forced into his father's care after he divorced Souta's mother, whom had already claimed Aiko for herself - meaning Souta was the kid left over. She was almost sixteen at the time, successful enough with a bright future ahead of her - compared to the seven year old Souta who preferred running around and climbing trees until his bones fractured.

Typically class clowns aren’t too academically smart, but at least they’re able to make friends - unlike Souta. Sure, classmates were intrigued at first, seeing as a kid from Japan had just enrolled into a school full of white kids, but it was short lived. He was restless, aggressive, and disrupted class to the point where even the lazy kids got mad at him. His funny accent topped it all off, being the easiest part of him to make fun of. He wasn’t ever affected by them, though. Souta has always led his own life.

"Tomboy" wasn't enough to describe Souta. His father tried so hard to make him presentable, but everything was turned back against him. His long hair ended up looking like a bird's nest when he came home, his pristine uniform became permanently stained with patches of dirt, before it began to rip from all the bushes he ran through and the trees he jumped from. He got reprimanded, thrown out of class, taken to the principal, anything that made his father internally scream from embarrassment.

It wasn’t until he took notice of Nathan that he even got remotely close to gaining a friend. Since Nathan was such a weirdo, he figured they’d get along. (They didn’t). However, being bothersome is what Souta did best, and eventually he got Nathan to agree to be his friend - though quite reluctantly. Circumstances pushed them even closer, and the two forged a life-long friendship.
