Clove, a sweet and innocent pixie moth, is the adopted son of Scorch and Cerulean. His shyness and timid nature stem from the trauma he suffered throughout his life, which is the reason he hides his eyes under the fringe of his hair. He is very empathetic toward others and cares deeply about loved ones, especially his adoptive parents.

BACKSTORY

Clove's life was unfortunately shaped by trauma. Back at Moth Hollow, he was considered an outcast in his clan of pixie moths due to his unusual wings; normally, pixie moths have beautiful, luminous green wings (as luna moths), but Clove was born with dusty brown wings. The other pixie moths considered this "ugly" and that he was a freak due to being different from the rest. As a result, he was often abused emotionally and physically; at one point it became so bad that he was tortured. His wounds eventually healed, but the damage to his wings remained. As such, he is only able to fly in short bursts.

This long term neglect caused him to be very afraid and reclusive, and he constantly hides his eyes under his hair. Finally being cast out of the clan at 18, he fended for himself alone in search for home, safety, and someone to accept him. Things do become much brighter for him, fortunately, when he is found by his now adoptive parents: two wyverns named Scorch and Cerulean. They become an extremely close family, which was what the young moth needed the most.

COLLECTOR'S PREY

Clove is seen as a valuable target by an evil naga sorceress, Nathara, for his exotic wings. They are seen by Nathara as an excellent trophy for her collection of disembodied wings of various creatures, all of which had fallen victim to her. Clove has been trapped and captured numerous times in attempts to rip off his wings, but Scorch and Cerulean rescued him before he fell victim. This constant threat has led them to be watchful of their surroundings, making sure to steer clear of all nagas.
