A meek boy who wants to seem much cooler than he is in his real life. If anything, his life is pretty boring. With a lack of parents around thanks to busy government jobs, he had to find ways to entertain himself. Early in childhood, he became friends with Hazel Natsuki. Michi was basically attached to Hazel at the hip. That was, while Hazel was in town. They always became lonely when Hazel and his parents would go off on their unpredictable business trips. While waiting for their best friend to come home, Michi would make sure to find new and cool places for the two of them to explore, or new restaurants to try. The best memory has is one summer, they visited a faire that was being held. That's the moment Michi had realized he had fallen in love with Hazel.

Upon hearing that the game "DRcade" had been restarted after disappearing for multiple months, he convinced Hazel to join him in making characters and signing up to play. Michi made "Obai Yaoru", a cool ghost hunter who was never scared and could handle any situation, an idealized version of himself. He entered the game and played through it, slowly realizing that the nature of the game was to get back at the assassins of a killer organization. Everything broke for Michi at the season of Fall, where Hazel revealed to Michi that he was an assassin and Michi was his target. Instead of killing Michi, Hazel pushed him down a hole and lost in a fight against another assassin, Wisp. Michi tried to get himself killed in a fit of panic and despair at his best friend being gone, and begged to his "ghost" friend to see if Hazel was still alive. This ghost friend, being another worker at this organization named Nikola, helped Michi and the rest of the group defeat the leader of the game and break everyone out. Michi also learned that the reason they were put in the game was because he had the Natsuki family fortune without even knowing about it. They wanted the location of it that he "knew", being the old faire he had fallen in love with Hazel.

As they were freed from the game, Michi demanded to stay with Nikola to make sure Hazel was okay. He was alive, but his memories were completely wiped. This devastated Michi, who decided he'd take most of his waking moments to trying to bring his crush's memory back no matter what.
