Kiba is an ambitious, hard-working and adventurous young werewolf who's gone through many hardships that shaped them to who they are now. He travels the world with his partner and husband, Shadow, another werewolf from a rival pack of his own original pack. The two are married but are more of an open relationship and neither are foreign to taking romantic or physical interest in others. They trust each other a lot and never seem to be jealous of anyone or anything. Shadow being the more relaxed partner of the two who takes everything as it is without a worry in the world, while Kiba tends to be the more reckless one of the relationship who is often getting himself into trouble. Luckily Shadow is there to get him out of trouble almost every time.

Kiba, originally being born a female werewolf, he knew something wasn't quite right with the way he felt about his gender and role in the pack. Spending most of his time with the males of the pack, he adopted their typical behaivor and mannerisms, along with changing his wardrobe as well to reflect a more 'masculine' look. As he grew older and began going through puberty, life became extremely difficult for him, especially revolving around his mental health, his feelings towards his body and the gender-roles he was deemed to play as in his pack heavily weighed on him. He sought out a way to shape his body to what he felt he should have born like, from medical procedures to magic, including the dark kind of magic. During this time though it was extremely difficult for him to obtain that kind of magical ability, let alone the books which were never simply 'gifted' away by witches, warlocks, wizwards and sorcerers. This had Kiba considering the medical procedures of the time he lived in, which for this timeline, was nowhere near as advanced as they are today. Kiba's lack of option to shape himself broke him down, spiraling himself into a deep depression that almost took his life, had his best friend not been there to pick him back up off his feet.

A Shadow In the Night

Shadow is Kiba's opposite in colours, a werewolf from a rival pack of Kiba's own pack, they had met in the forest one day while both had been chasing the same prey that wandered from one territory to the next. Both being very young at the time were unaware of their packs being rivals and quickly got along as they chased eachother through the woods and played like pups typically did. Eventually they found out about the history of their packs relationship when a war broke out between them, resulting in Kiba and Shadow's separation for ten years. Both were heartbroken, missing their best friend dearly but were forced to be away from each other after Kiba's pack decided to move up north towards the mountains. However, the ten years of their separation had come to a close when Kiba decided to venture off on his own as fully grown, wanting to seek out a way to fix his discomfort with his own body. While hunting, like a repeating story, he stumbled into Shadow again and reunited with him, filling him in on everything that has been going on his life while Shadow shared his life story as well. Kiba and Shadow decided to travel togehter for awhile, not returning to their packs for a few years, getting into trouble, adventuring, and struggling with the life of a lone wolf. When it became really rough the two were forced to return at some point and were lucky to find out Kiba's pack and moved back to a closer location to Shadow's pack, enaballing them to secretly meet up in the nights to hang out with another.

Overtime, the two began to become closer than friends as time went on, eventually becoming a romantic pair which resulted in Kiba becoming pregant with Shadow's offspring. Afraid of the birthing process, the phases he will have to go through until the child is born, and the suspicions from his pack, he considered taking specific herbs to terminate his pregnancy. Thinking over his dilemma for awhile, he found that he could not bring himself to do it and decided to have the child instead, which Shadow was worried about but supportive of. Carrying a child is something Kiba never considered and he hated every moment of it until his son Russ was born on a Autumn day in a den he had began building outside of his pack's territory, together with Shadow. Although this unexpected turn of event in his life was not something he planned nor originally wanted, he came to terms with being a parent and learned that he loved being Russ's parent. Shadow and Kiba spent time a lot outside of their packs raising Russ together in secrecy, the two making many excuses on why they are absent here and there. Their secret did not stay a secret forever though and it led to many problems that unfolded in both packs of the two young parents, in the end the two were exiled and left their territories entirely with their young son by their side.

A New Beginning

Kiba had to start a new life outside of the place he grew up in as did Shadow, being lone wolves was difficult but they learned how to adapt and they kept up with the change of society. They moved a lot from home to home, den to den, cottage to cottage, until they eventually found a permanent home in the woods of Washington far south from their original state, Alaska. A medium sized cottage built by Shadow and his friends he'd made in the new state he and Kiba moved to together with Russ who was now in his adolescent stage of growth. Kiba was able to finally start shaping his body to the way he's always wanted it as technology greatly improved since the time he first discovered his gender issues. Everyone in Kiba's new family supported him through his transition and helped him acheive his goals in being happier with himself, Shadow especially being his biggest cheerleader as he helped him seek out surgeons and witches willing to lend their spellbooks to aid Kiba's transition. Kiba was able to become who he is today, being proud of all the obstacles he overcame to reach where he is now in life.

Anomaly (Soul Double): Can split his soul into two copies and project one of them to get through areas not accessible to his physical form. If this soul were to be absorbed by another creature though or pulled to the afterlife Kiba cannot get it back and he cannot generate another one. His soul will be permanently damaged without it's copy, which would cause fatige, confusion and sickness at random times permanently. This is why Kiba does not like splitting his soul in fear of actually losing that other half if something went terribly wrong.

- He has a son named Russ who is blue-grey instead of white or black like his parents

- Kiba did not want children originally but he's happy being Russ's father, he does not plan on having any more biological children

- He wears masculine to neutral clothing, he has no problem wearing feminine clothes but he doesn't actively buy them for himself

- He thinks gender roles are dumb and only hurt society, especailly trans people but he tolerates others choosing to obide to gender roles, he just doesn't understand them personally.

- Depending on the timeline Kiba either has bottom surgery (through magic) or he still has his original sex

- Kiba has extremely low fertility which also effected Russ's birth. Russ was born a runt with Respiratory problems that he takes medication for.

Design History

- This character was created in 2004, rendering Kiba my oldest 'existing' character, I have no artwork anymore of my very old wolf ocs but Kiba does have some ancient artwork buried somewhere in my parents garage. Kiba started off as a white wolf with gold eyes and female, over time Kiba got a kemonomimi and a humanoid form as I got older living at my stepdads house. His gender changed from female to trans male in 2019 but was not made official till 2021, his new design was published 2024.

- Originally Kiba was a mother of 12 children, six of them being adopted, six of them being biological and he was always bisexual since the day I created him.

- Kiba was originally monogamous but I decided to make him polyamourous so I can create romantic relationships involving him with other people's ocs. His marriage and relationship with Shadow is subject to change based on his relationships with other characters and the owner of the character's preference.

- All of Kiba's previous 'children' are separated from his lore (aside from Russ) now and have their own profiles on my Toyhou .se
