Parented by an Inazuman maiden and a bullfighter from Natlan, he was undoubtedly born with a fiery passion in his veins (and was later lucky enough to be granted a vision to match).

His father was well renowned where he hailed from and only stayed with his family for a few summers before returning home, leaving Koito to be raised by his mother in Inazuma. It wasn’t until far later in life when Koito would see him again, this time on his father’s invitation to stay with him in his hometown. Koito would go on to spend a year in Natlan, during which he not only (reluctantly) learned the ways of his father’s trade, but also earned himself a vision.

However, this new routine wasn't made to last, as following a nearly fatal accident in the bull ring, Koito remembers almost nothing following his departure from Inazuma (this, unfortunately, includes the knowledge of the ambition it was that earned him his vision). His dad, ever the opportunist, actually attempted to use his son’s memory loss to his advantage, hoping that he could pick up the pieces of his son's fractured mind and rebuild him into a scion.

However, Koito (whose impression of his father was reverted to that of years ago) felt no real obligation to stay. Making the decision to return to Inazuma, he began his quest to reignite (or rather, rediscover) his passion(s).

Notes: one of the first things he did upon returning to Inazuma was getting his vision recast from a Natlan to an Inazuma, as he felt no real connection to his dad’s homeland
