Varran hawks headlines on the streets of a large city in the heart of Sybalus. He has spunk and is snarky with many folk that come to buy papers. Never knowing his family and being orphaned, he learned to survive at a young age, taking up odd jobs. One of his current ones is being a guest entertainer at lounges and chorus dens. Many believe he was orphaned due to the oddities of his appearance, usually the telltale signs of a family curse. Varran is a petty thief and involved in much crime.

- Varran has a regular news hawker cap that he wears. He often wears it when on the job selling papes.                                                                      
-  He wears frills and laces when entertaining at lounges and the chorus dens as the audience loves it. And the more the audience loves his performance, which involves singing and dancing, the more he gets paid. Though, he isn’t the type to wear feminine wear on the regular.
- He has many names and identities in order to invade the law and to quickly escape to another life. But Varran is the name he gave himself. And the one that was given to Lavinia, a pirate queen leading an all female band of thieves, who he comes to think as his sister.
- Varran teases Thames before and after they begin courting. As a natural flirt, he knows extactly how to fluster Thames as he finds him cute when he’s flustered.
