HISTORY:

Kai-Tai was born in Mirstone, and has lived here all his life, his father was from Hawaii, and his mother from the next town over, they met on vacation and a summer fling blossomed into a relationship. Rather than staying on the islands though, they ended up taking residence in the town. Being born and raised in town, Kai learned about the Beacon Company fairly early on, but didn't fully understand it's purpose until he was older. But for the most part, he saw them as an organization of super heroes, and aspired to join them one day. While his parents supported the company, they were hesitant on letting their son run off to join them once he was old enough...But that didn't stop Kai from trying to make sure he was beacon material! Until the accident happened that caused him to lose his right arm. He was a teen when it happened, and had been out water skiing with friends. Their boat driving was reckless, they hit a wave at an unsafe speed that caused the boat to flip, and his arm got caught in the motor... It was a long road to recovery, and it was certainly a lesson he'd never forget about consequences. It hit him hard in a lot of ways, and for a long while he lost hope and passion for a lot of things - including that life long dream of joining the Beacon Company. It felt unatainable, like a lot of other things. There's no way they'd take him at that state. Eventually though, life got a little easier, through various therapies he found a sense of himself again, he found hope and passion for things again. While he still figured his former dream was gone, he found excitement and contentment in outreach and advocating for amputee services and promoting general accessibility around town. That's where he eventually met [Zyriacus](note to self: add linky once Zyriacus is up)...well, he met his mom first, who then introduced him to Zyriacus. They started out as friends, and gradually became something more, they moved together as roomies, got jobs at the funeral home Zyriacus inhereted from his parents, and turned into definetly more than roomies. He's been quite happy with how life turned out, despite the curveballs thrown his way. But lately he's started feeling a pull, a need for adventure, a longing to do more. He's been going to the game cafe where he knows the Beacon Company resides, he started with just playing D&D there, it scratched the itch a little. But as he learned more about the Company again, it ignited his old ambitions. Why does he want to join the Beacon Company? It's what he's always wanted, but there's more to it now. As much as he likes his job...if there's a chance that he can save people, so they won't need a funeral home, he's willing to take that chance. But there's no way he's doing it alone...so he's wrapping his boyfriend into it.
