Aspen never really learned how it is to be loved by your family. His parents never expressed that they love him or he is wanted there, only provided the necessities they had to provide - shelter, food, anything he needed. Their parents never showed up for mom/father's day celebrations at school, nor saw him graduating every class. He was just left alone, and he truly envied other children that got to experience parents love. Though, at least they didn't put him into more abuse and just accepted he is now a part of the household. Later on he realised that he was an unwanted child and it became clear to Aspen as of why they acted that way.

Around the age of 13 they realised they don't really feel like a boy, but also don't feel like a girl either. It was a long and difficult search as internet didn't provide much resources about the issue back then, but eventually they stumbled upon the 'nonbinary' term. Having some hope that their parents will listen for once and try to understand, he tried to talk to them when he was almost 16 years old. Aspen predicted lots of different scenarious on how that conversation might end up being like, but he definitely didn't predict the fact that he was literally threw away from home. He was given an hour to pack.

He spent the next years in a local orphanage, struggling to accept his new life. They helped take care of younger children most of the time with some older residents, and after a few weeks he befriended one of them - Damian. Damian quickly became his best friend and somebody he could rely on and tell everything to. Aspen really enjoyed his company and was thankful that at least one person wants to put up with him, after so many years with no closure from anyone.

Aspen developed depression and anxiety during his child days and it was left untreated for years. He got his first appointment set up by a guardian at an orphanage who was very concerned about his state. Luckily somebody treated them seriously and Aspen got a much needed help, which he still gets to this day. His state is slowly improving and meds they were prescribed are working. One of the things he really indulged in during his life was art, which also helped alongside of the meds and therapy. It was their way to unwind and express their emotions, or just let their imagination flow.

Once he finished high school, he moved out to Budapest to study art. He finished with honours and decided to spend all his scholarships for a trip around the Europe. On his way he met lots of amazing people and learned around various tattoo artists. They mostly just enjoyed life at this time, not having a permanent place to stay in nor somebody he could come back to. After a few years though he decided to come back to Hungary and moved into Budapest for good, renewing his friendship with Damian and renting a room in the city center. Aspen managed to join a small tattoo studio and do some charity work for self-harm survivors by offering them free tattoos to cover the scars. They are quite popular around Hungary for that.

Aspen met Thando, his boyfriend, during one of the tattoo sessions. They immediately clicked together and ended up making out at the back of the studio, when no one else was around. Later on, due to some housing problems, Thando moved in to the flat Aspen was renting a room in, with his help. After a longer while they got together. He still has some problems expressing their emotions or let Thando know in what state he currently is in, but they both are working on that. His boyfriend is very supportive and never fails to cheer them up, and vice versa. The only obstacle is that Thando is an international exchange student and comes from France. Aspen is afraid that their relationship will not survive long distance and meeting only once every few months, but will do everything to make it work.
