Armin's parents made sure to let him know that he is not loved for most of his childhood. He was provided only basic necessities and nothing above that, having to earn money on his own in order to get himself something nice. He spent most of the time in the library reading books or studying and playing games on shared computers, or with this classmates. He tried to be the best student in the school to get scholarships for his results, which wasn't that difficult, considering he liked studying and assimilated informations quite easily. Unfortunately, he had to share the money with his parents, but still got some money for his passions. During high school he started developing passion to computer science and programming and decided to follow this path in university. He promised himself that as soon as he finishes highshool, he will move out.

As soon as he moved out to a dorm in Budapest and started university, he lost contact with his parents, promising himself to not let their trauma and problems soak into him. He volunteered in hospital in various wards helping patients, offering them a long talk, advice or some entertainment by playing games with them. It was a way for him to unwind and stop thinking about his problems. He desperately needed something to do and volunteering was the best choice he ever made. He was also doing some freelance graphics design and coding work inbetween his university projects and studying to be able to have some financial stability. He still mostly relied on scholarships back then.

During his volunteering in a mental ward he met Oliver - a teenager struggling with anorexia and schizophrenia. Seeing how neglected he was, he tried to visit him as often as possible to give him some hope. As soon as he turned 18, Armin offered him a place to stay in his own dorm room, paying for his stay, knowing that his mother will eventually kick him out. Oliver immediately accepted the offer and a day later, he already moved in. There is 7 years difference between them and they both refer to each other as brothers and love each other like so. They became inseparable and Armin will do everything to protect his brother and make his life as best as possible. He never used his bad state for his own use and treated him with respect he deserved.

Eventually, as soon as Armin finished university, they moved out to an apartment. He kept his freelance work and expanded it to programming, wanting to keep an eye on Oliver, who still struggled with his mental health. They eventually got permission to get him a service dog, which he trained on his own, under a supervision. Armin started to use a dating app, on which he met Villiam. They haven't become together but were sexual partners for a while, until Armin actually found his significant other. Not wanting to lose this relationship, they became close friends, often playing games together or discussing Star Wars, as they both were big fans. 

Armin fell in love with Tomi, Oliver's friend he somehow saved from a difficult situation. Tomi stayed at their place, not having somewhere to go, adding yet another person to their little family. Armin loves him dearly and helps him get out of addiction and mental illnesses. There is 5 years difference between them, but they don't really feel like there is any.
