[BACKGROUND]

Seungri grew up in poverty with a very abusive father. He would beat him and his brother a lot out of frustration. Seungri would often get hit more as he would misbehave more just so his father would take his anger out on him opposed to his younger brother.

Seungri got a part time job while still in school to help with finances but the beatings never stopped and things got worse for his brother as Seungri was not there as often. Seungri and his father would often get into serious fights over this to the point that Seungri was hospitalized a few times.

Eventually he got so fed up he told his brother to pack his bags and they left. Seungri was still in high school and he worked really hard to work full time while going to school. His younger brother also worked part time while going to school. The two struggled but managed to just get by.

Upon graduating high school Seungri went to look for more work and worked three jobs for a while until his brother encouraged him to try out when a music agency was holding try outs as they were looking for new talents as his brother knew he could sing well. It took some convincing but Seungri made some time to go and was surprised when he had a call back, and was even more surprised when they decided to hire him.

Seungri worked really hard during his training days and was very happy to debut and make his little brother proud.
