Two students in the same class, Kanami had transferred into the class two months into the year. Her past as a villain led to her being a loner at first as the students all feared her. Yoshio was instead intrigued by the girl, and thought it was worth giving her a chance. The first time they talked was after Kanami found Yoshio playing with Yukine and Avaron, the first person to actually interact with the kids without fear of Kanami, which made Kanami happy enough to make an effort to talk to him.
They started out as close friends and training partners. Helping each other improve. They spend many nights lounging in the common room laughing, and enjoying the others presence. The two were always there for each other, and it was uncommon to see them apart. They were happier with each other then they were before. Yoshio was the one to help her come out of her shell and make friends with the rest of the class.
He was the first to realize how he felt, when he realized the dragon girl meant the world to him. His favorite thing about her was her sarcastic jokes and laughing. The way she was warm when they touched, because of her quirk. He loved how she was strong, but never saw her any different on the nights she was weak.
