A troubled child, Vincent grew up in a broken family split by social and ethnic stratifications. After his father and the rest of their village were wiped out by a contagious illness, Vincent's mother enrolled him in a wizarding academy in an attempt to make something out of her son. Unfortunately for Vincent, he was not quite suited to route learning and ended up having to drop out of school despite his persistent endeavours. Bitter and disappointed, Vincent decided to take a detour on the way home and eventually chanced upon a small temple in the mountains which agreed to take him in upon hearing of his desire to prevent unnecessary deaths.
Despite his gentle demeanor, Vincent hides a fiery, cantankerous personality underneath a veneer of politeness, a direct result of the rentless bullying and discrimination he had to endure while he was growing up. His firm resolve to not become someone with a reputation like that of his mother's led to him developing a facade of meekness in order to better fit in with other people. Only a select few close friends are aware of Vincent's quick temper, which only emerges when he is enraged in a particular way.
- Vincent has a complex about his odd blue eye, preferring to cover it up with one side of his bangs most of the time.
- Even though he is considerably proficient at drawing Vincent is hopeless when it comes to making handicrafts.
- Can play the piano and frequently takes song requests from his colleagues during dinnertime.
- Is somewhat of an anxious hypochondriac, often worrying about germs and general cleanliness.
- The rest of the temple staff view Vincent as the "responsible one" as he is rather good at taking care of other people.

Eleanore
Coming from a similar background, Vincent has a lot of empathy for Eleanore's plight, and privately believes that her family could afford to be more patient with her. Vincent has a favourable impression of Eleanore from all the times they had spoken during his visits to her manor, finding her to be a pleasant child. When Eleanore went missing from home Vincent was one of the people who helped her family search for her.
Colleague
Makoto
Makoto is Vincent's roommate, colleague, and self-proclaimed second best friend. The first person to show Vincent hospitality upon his induction into the temple, Makoto became fast friends with Vincent due to their similarities in age and temperament. Much to Vincent's chagrin, Makoto derives immense amusement from provoking Vincent and watching his reactions on a daily basis.

Satoru
Vincent's feelings towards Satoru are complicated. Although he admires and respects Satoru greatly, Vincent was horrified to discover that outside of work Satoru was pretty much helpless and had to be constantly attended to. Against his better judgement, Vincent has ended up becoming Satoru's main caretaker in addition to being the one tasked to pull him out of the various inconvenient situations he gets into.
