Personality
Pausehunt is quiet, reserved, and unassuming. He isn't difficult to get along with, but holds grudges and never apologizes. He's a perfectionist with an inability to trust others and can't stand when others try to exert power over him. He hides under a mask of apathy. He has a strong fear of death, which drives him to kill to survive. He despises this part of himself, but isn't willing to change.
When he was alive, he was regarded by his clanmates as somewhat withdrawn, but kind at heart. He was well-liked, though he didn't know it. He had a softness to his demeanor that has vanished with time. If asked about his past self now, he would say he had been "hopeless in every way". However, he has largely forgotten how things were back then.
Bio
Pauseheal was once the medicine cat of CedarClan. He and his brother, Quickstar, appeared to have an amicable relationship, but secretly couldn't stand each other. Quickstar was too overbearing, and Pauseheal wouldn't be obedient to him.
After skirmishes with FieldClan, Quickstar declared war against them. The rest of CedarClan supported him, but Pauseheal resented his brother for beginning the war. After having to treat many clanmates, he tired of it and confronted Quickstar in public. Quickstar attacked him, only meaning to hurt him a little, but Pauseheal mistook it as an attempt to kill and fought back desperately. Quickstar bled out and lost his last life.

For the rest of his life, he was on the run as Pausehunt, a notorious murderer. He was unable to conquer his fear of death and lashed out at those who attacked him. He fatally wounded several and tried to treat their wounds, but some still died. He was finally struck down in Leaf-bare and went to the Dark Forest, where he continued to struggle. After many moons of fighting, he has more than made up for his lack of battle training as a medicine cat.
He eventually met Rapidsnow, a living cat visiting the Dark Forest, and accidentally possessed his body after a battle. He took up Rapidsnow's duties as deputy of PineClan and pretended to be him. During their battle in the Dark Forest, Rapidsnow's neck received a fatal neck wound, but it healed mysteriously.
Now, Pausehunt lives a second life in PineClan. Due to a distrust of Rapidsnow and his own selfish fear of death, he refuses to allow Rapidsnow to reclaim his body. Each night, they fight once more.
