About

They did everything to distance themselves from everyone. And still, they had been found.

Ah-2468: Two Fish in a Pond

Ryan was quick to escape OO-0000 the moment the war began. They're unsure if their parents made it... their mother should be safe, given that she isn't a dimenller, but it's been years since they last saw her. They've been preoccupied blending in into this wonderful fantasy world called: Ahanaria.

They weren't surprised to spawn in the world in the form of a fish-person... and neither were they surprised to find out they were an outcast from their community. "Row" as their nickname was, swam the oceans alone and they preferred it that way. They didn't know the reason why they had been left to their devices, but they didn't really care. Then "Reel" came looking for them, seemingly an old neighbour of their prior self.

Could it be the latest attempt of the village to usher Row to move on from their waters? No, actually. It was a worried stare and a heartfelt attempt to get on their good side. Who was this Reel character anyway? The other fish would visit them, almost daily, to keep them company, ask about their day and their discoveries... it was an odd sensation to say the least. Ryan didn't know how to feel. It was certainly illuminating to find out they were abandoned by their people for "connecting with the humans" - which is something they as Ryan would never do. Huh.

The visits were frowned upon aggregiously, that's something they knew. Soon, they didn't even need to do so, Reel was also cast out for defecting to Row's side. A shine glinted in their eyes, as if their excitement had been reinvigorated, and they swam fast, waiting for Row to catch up to them to the borders of their community's waters... the shallow waters near Tarras. Ryan couldn't lie and say they didn't feel close to Reel, for choosing them over the village. "You've got to meet me to the humans too!", they'd excitedly said many times now.

It was a bright afternoon when they finally decided to meet those humans their friend wanted to see so much. Reel almost shrieked at the casual mention of it... yeah, they were seeing them today. The two of them swam near the shores, waiting for a boat or ship leave the docks of Tarras. "There! There!!", Reel said before taking off to the nearest ship. "Wait-!" Row propelled themselves further than they wanted to, accidentally headbutting onto the wood surface... looking up they saw the curious humans crouch down to meet eyes with them. One of them walked back to reach for something, as Reel approached. But Ryan knew what that was and instinctively pushed them away. Before Reel could respond, Row had been captured and was being reeled in by the fishmongers. They struggled, trying to get out any words, but only unintelligible glubs and croaks came from their mouth. The humans then turned their eyes to Reel, just as Row was losing their senses... the last thing they heard was... a blood-curdling scream.

IL-5510: A Labyrinth of Solitude

A dimenller can never return to a universe their possessed self dies in, it locks them out for good. That meant Ryan’s only friend was out of their reach… they didn’t know what to do with themselves now, so they soullessly wandered about from dimension to dimension, plagued by nightmares of their last day in AH-2468.

…That is until they stumbled into IL-5510.  A universe of destruction and suffering that seemed innocent on the surface. It was just a maze, where strange creatures (likely the inhabitants of this world) would crawl from wall to wall in search of the exit. Ryan realised very quickly - through backtracking - that this labyrinth was everchanging, with walls and doors opening and closing and hallways rotating to create new pathways further into the maze; there probably never was, and never would be, an exit

The locals had started turning on each other, battling in the maze for food and resources, due to the very unforgiving grounds they traversed through. Ryan was… not into this, but they saw an opportunity. A chance to find some peace. With their unique dimenller trait they ran to the centre of the maze and made it their home there. If they needed food they’d pop into an adjacent dimension but for the most part, they were determined to stay here, unbothered by the few who would come further into the maze. And as the corpses piled up around them by the ones who couldn't make it, they found their solace.

OO-0000: Their Silence Broken

It's an understatement to say they were surprised by the appearance of supernatural "natives"... ones that spoke their tongue as if Ryan couldn't understand. They were dealing with dimenllers, who seem to have accidentally stumbled upon their tomb. Cornered by someone who could match their super speed... they noticed one of them is very... talkative; as if they never learned to hide their true identity from the world. ...and they look relatively young too. This is child's play, they thought to themselves before vanishing, watching the three of them from the shadows. The monsters, children of the labyrinth, were known to be wild and vile creatures. If the travellers had no powers, they would perish as soon as they were found, which is exactly what Ryan wanted. But as the only capable member fell to their knees... and they heard a blood-curdling scream...

Some feeling, deeply buried inside them, awakened and in a flash all of them were safe. As much as Ryan wanted to stay alone the little one... Gordon... reminded them of someone they used to know. The fallen one, who had caught up to them earlier, Beth, was laying on the ground unconscious. The other one, Matthew - a familiar name - explained their adventure's plot to them in foolish confidence. They eyed his torn scarf and shook their head.

"...I'll join you. However, I don't know how long I'll stay for."

Fun Facts!

  • Their favourite colour is green.
  • They are a vegetarian.
  • They're a quiet loner with little care for other people.
  • Whilst they are aware and have heard of most other dimenllers equal to or older than their age, they mostly lived in the dimension their mother resided in.
  • Their item is a choker necklace which gives them the ability to move supernaturally fast.
  • They are an old character, part of the original cast, that I barely remember. Unlike the rest of the dimenllers from 2015, their name is the only one I don't actually remember. I assume it's Ryan (?), they used to be a woman with a highschool valley girl attitude and with the ability to enter other people's dreams. Since that's way too similar to Gordon's power, I changed it to super speed. Fun fact part 2, Ryan was the only one from the main cast that permanently died in the past storyline from the hands of a new villain. Now they have a complete rewrite with an actual backstory so I might not kill them off-
  • The first concept redesign eventually became Reel, their best friend from AH-2468.

Reel  [ friend ]

What they had with Reel is something they've never been able to attain before with others: a sense of comfort. They felt like they had finally been accepted into a world, Reel's world, the tiny bubble that kept the two of them closer than ever. ...It was cruel what happened after. A forced kind of separation. Was this karma? What had they done to lose them so unjustly?

Gordon  [ kid ]

In ways they wished they wouldn't understand... Gordon reminds them of someone. Someone cheerful and exciteable. Someone so curious, they fear it will lead to their downfall. The young girl is not someone they remember meeting in OO-0000... they assume she's one of the last descendants of their kind. Still... it's weird she is so clueless about her dimenller heritage. What was Beth doing all this time?

Beth  [ who? ]

Beth is more than irrelevant to them than anyone else. Other than their initial shock at her ability to catch up to them while they use their item... theyfind her quite worthless. A protector to Gordon, an accessory is all she will ever be for them. She's not fun, she's not interesting, she's also unheard of just like Gordon. Before they met her, they'd never seen her in OO-0000 before the war. Plus, she didn't look as young as Gordon. Hmph.

Matthew  [ they know him ]

Ah yes, Matthew, they remember that name. They don't... quite remember that appearance though. He must have changed his appearance a lot ever since he learned to use his shapeshifting powers. His sorrowful state with the broken item made them quite disappointed in him but... at least he's entertaining. Engaging. Something worthwhile they prefer to their solitude. Sometimes. Some other times he just gets on their nerves.

Timothy  [ another hybrid ]

Ryan was not aware there were other surviving hybrids like them... like Timothy. They blame it on the fact that most hybrid live with their non-dimenller parents. Either way, his... entrapment in WF-8001 was more than pitiful. At least he made up for it with his smarts. Ryan felt... closer to him compared to the rest. Could it be their slightly impaired abilities due to being hybrids? Shared experiences? Hm.

Oliver  [ they know him ]

How could they forget about Oliver? He was one of the last to wed before the war began. Ryan and their family had been invited, along with every other dimenller family. Marriage was a big thing for a species with that few members. He was marrying that... oh, what was her name? Speaking of her, where was she? And how come he's travelling alone? He's ever so mysterious...
