Canon History
Prior to being a "fallen angel," Calybriar was an angel who originally served under a certain celestial bureaucracy. He represented the virtue of MORALITY, and he was referred to as such. MORALITY championed the well-being of the many. He was under constant pressure of trying to appease the governors while faithfully representing the qualms of the governed.
Unfortunately, MORALITY restricts power. How does one sacrifice the safety of a couple hundred people to ensure the well-being of a few thousand? You cannot be a utilitarian while being MORAL. Even more importantly, how does one sacrifice someone else while benefitting yourself? You cannot be comfortable while being MORAL. It was through this train of thought that the upper council descended into greed and corruption. Without consulting MORALITY, the council passed cruel laws and upheld their logic with the guise of JUSTICE.
Alas, to have MORALITY is to be weak to mortal sensitivities. MORALITY was unable to withstand the pain of the commonfolk and tried to discretely fight for righteousness. White lies should be acceptable if they are well-intentioned. As a response to MORALITY's rebellion, the upper council consulted JUSTICE to put a stop to social unrest. JUSTICE decreed, "The advocate of the common has been tainted with bias. He commits blasphemy - one eye looks to the heavens while the other eye looks to the ground. Like a chameleon he walked among us, but he shall deceive no longer. Remove him from his position, and thus may his divine sight be removed."
MORALITY knew that he was a walking target, but he was still too optimistic. He lacked foresight. He was caught by surprise when he was mobbed and forcibly exiled from the city. In exchange for his eye, MORALITY acquired a new name, a new way of life in the shadows, and new passive attitude.
Lmao he would suffer when confronted with the Trolley Problem.
What is the difference between divine morality and mortal morality? Can never return to former glory after losing eye with divine vision - his morality is now flawed. Timid, but wants to do the best for people.
