Early life
Valerie was born in the sram gods realm, srambad born to a mother she never got to know and her only “parent” Devor Kester her father. Her mother left her right after she was born, she doesn't know much about her besides the scars she left on her father, and Devor a eniripsa turned rogue, he was never a true father to her. Only giving her that of the bare necessities for her survival. Their only cash flow was that of Devor working the system in his favor.
Vivi grew up as a constant reminder of her mother to Devor. As far back as she can remember every few months he would pick up another girlfriend, or hooker to get attached to. Val didn't mind these stepmothers much, mostly ignoring them and going to her room to read or draw. Sometimes complying on the occasion they would want mommy daughter time, mimicking her father and pleasing them when though truly, she would rather be alone.
As she slowly aged she wished to spend more time with her father, so as a compromise he started to training her in the ways of being a rogue, teaching her to shoot, lighting a bomb, placing traps, and quickly discovering her ability that of manipulation of shadow, turning into a purpley ink like substance when under her control. Of course the “training” didn't end there as Devor started to control what she was to wear, how she was to act, to speak, even to think, refusing even more affection towards her until she complied with his requests, turning her into a “better rogue”.
Tennage years
Once he deemed her ready, Devor started taking his teenage daughter to parties, encouraging her to gain information, and implying she drank to help her. Val of course complied, this was her father after all, and this was there time together. At first she was quiet and didn't talk much, resulting in more time being ignored for disobeying. Slowly she found putting on an act worked to please him..to please everyone, she mimicked her father how he stood how he acted, cocky, gloating, cloning his every action, and if that didn't work? She would just laugh, fake she was crazy to scare them off.
Once her training was finally complete her father would start taking her out on trips, testing her skills in the field. This is where she truly found her passion for roguery, the thrill of a mission, actually being out there! Being able to shoot and be in control. She excelled in sniper missions, being in control and watching her target for days. That was her true passion, even if there was a prize to be won the journey was that for her. And of course once she achieved her prize, the cash, the trinket, whatever it was. Vivi was left with scrapes and a pat on the back, which of course she loved any from him attention, she loved.
When she was barely an adult Devor had one of his “long term” girlfriends move into their home. And she quickly took control, demanding Val was kicked out, hating the idea of another adult woman in their household, and Devor complied, agreeing with her. That it was time for Val to go. Packing her stuff and being given a haven bag and a few rations, she was kicked out of the only place she ever called home. Leaving with nothing but the bag and a few things she packed, she headed off.
Adulthood?
Val quickly ended up living in an old rundown sram church, a few others like her sleeping there for the free heating and shelter, though food was scarce. After a few weeks of living there for free she was sick of doing nothing, even if she had no idea what to do. So she decided to do what Devor would do, she picked up her rogue mask, gun and a new set of clothes she started to steal, whatever she could get her hands on, food, weapons, ammo, money. If she could get her hands on it she would take it. This led her to being something the others looked forward to at the church, she could be a useful asset, so they kept telling her to do things, steal this, take that. And she complied, liking the attention, and subconsciously, enjoying telling her what to do and where to go next, even if they manipulated her for more.
This slowly led her to getting more friendly with those who took advantage of her kindness, giving them more, anything they could desire she would obtain for them, and all they needed to do was pretend to be her friend, to hug her, pet her, let her cry. And they would get anything they wanted. Soon though, they slipped up sending her on a mission with a few others they were paying, this party left her to die the moment she was no longer useful. She soon came crawling back to those she opened up to, the church, her friends, her family, expecting them to care for her and her wounds. But once they saw her condition, her blood dripping down her clothes, the tears in her eyes, they shut her out even after all she had done for them.
She didn't know what to do, her family had abandoned her again. So she left. trying to live on her own, even though she felt hollow without someone to guide her like Devor did, like her family did,so she went off to find a new family, wanting to be whole again to be told what to do with her life.
