Relationships
- Relationship with Proton:
For a long time, Proton was the only family Lark knew. Very much for the worse. Unbeknownst to Archer, when Proton gave birth to their twins, he dropped one of them off on Archer's doorstep but kept the other himself out of spite. And maybe for some grand scheme. The details where vague even to him at the time, but regardless of his reasons, they resulted in Lark having a rough and unhappy childhood. He’s raised in a bad crowd and ends up getting drawn into assisting Proton in cons which only escalate as he ages. Proton shows little love to Lark. He keeps the boy alive and perhaps there's moments here and there where a little love and affection is shown, but mostly the two have a strained relationship which results in Lark leaving once he finds someone he thinks he can escape to. - Relationship with Maverick:
Lark's kinda boyfriend/sugar daddy/the mob boss he hangs around. The two meet while Lark is running yet another con for Proton. Lark attempts to seduce Maverick as part of the con, but ends up being seduced himself. Lark is under no illusions he's little more than Maverick's boytoy, but compared to what he's use to, that's still an upgrade from continuing to work for his mother. On Lark parts, he thinks it's love, wanting to do whatever he can for the man he cares for.
Personality
- Pessimistic: Having been shown just how harsh the world can be for years, Lark tends to assume the worst of people and situations
- Cutthroat: Lark is willing to do whatever is takes to survive. His harsh upbringing has made him amoral, no task being too much for him to commit.
- Follower: Lark lacks the impulse to lead, tending to follow others schemes vs coming up with them on his own. First it's Proton he follows. Later it's Maverick.
- Withdrawn: Lark's natural personality is on the quiet, withdrawn side. If he had his way, he'd mostly avoid interacting with other people he's not close to. He's long accepted that's not an option for him though, doing what he has to for first Proton, and later Maverick. Both requiring him to commonly interact with targets as "bait."
Trivia
- - Although Lark appears flirty and often has to act that part, he's not inherently a flirty person. The provacative clothing is an act, first for Proton who makes him use his "sex appeal" to lure in victims to rob, and later with Maverick who uses him for a similar purpose, but also just enjoys how it makes Lark look.
- - Lark never really meets or gets to know his father and twin brother. While growing up, he was unaware either existed, since Proton never told him anything about the rest of his family, coming up with various tales about who his "deadbeat" father was.
- - From a meta standpoint, Lark/Maverick is a similar dynamic to Riviera/Darcel, but taken to a more extreme level.
